â ïž Property and water safety â ïž
Enjoy the beauty of Puget Sound. However, be aware of the risks associated with swimming and playing in the water. Everyone is encouraged to prioritize safety while enjoying the water and surrounding area.
Property Hillside:
The property is terraced with the highest point having a bluff/hillside drop off to the waterfront below. Please watch children at all times. Do not stand within 5 feet of bluff edge.
Important Safety Guidelines:
Swim at Your Own Risk: Swimming in open water like Puget Sound is different from swimming in a pool, and conditions can change quickly. Always swim at your own risk.
Water Quality:
Check local water quality reports and advisories before swimming or engaging in other water activities, as high bacteria levels can be a risk to human health. Find these reports through resources like the Washington State Department of Ecology's BEACH program or the Swim Guide.
Cold Water Safety: Puget Sound waters can be very cold, even during warmer months. Cold water can quickly cause fatigue and increase the risk of drowning.
Life Jackets: Always wear a properly fitted life jacket when boating or engaging in activities like kayaking, even if you are a strong swimmer. Guest is responsible for bringing proper life jackets as life jackets are not provided by the host.
Supervision: Never leave children unsupervised near the water. Maintain close "touch supervision" of weak swimmers.
Know Your Limits: Open water swimming is more challenging than pool swimming. Be aware of your abilities and do not swim beyond your limits.
Avoid Risky Behavior: Do not dive into unknown waters, avoid "rock hopping" on potentially slippery surfaces, and do not enter the water if you have been drinking alcohol.
Emergency Contact: In case of emergency, dial 911.
By booking this property, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these water safety guidelines and that you assume all risks associated with using or being near the waterfront.
