Das Hotel hat die besten Jahre hinter sich

Positives: - Geräumige Zimmer - Gemütliche (westliche) Betten - Gutes Frühstück - Gute Lage - Nettes Personal Negatives: - Alles wirkt abgewohnt (Tapeten lösen sich ab, Fußböden und Möbel verschlissen / verschmutzt) Wer davon absehen kann, wird sich in diesem Hotel wohlfühlen.

Property looks a bit old, but is extremely clean and comfortable. We got a traditional Japanese room and we loved it! Traditional hot baths are available with mountain view. There is a nice amusements room with many games and a bar plenty of choices. Finally the breakfast was great!

Great location and acceptable room.

Pros: Great location. Decent large Japanese style family room.
Cons: The hotel is quite old and could do with some renovation - especially on the landings and areas between the room.
As a previous reviewer said, after reading some of the other reviews of this hotel I felt a little trepidation. However we were pleasantly surprised! Yes, the hotel is old and needs some renovation, however the Japanese family room that we had was fine. It was clean, and reasonably spacious. All the facilities in the room worked, although the air conditioning was not the most powerful. The view from our room over the lake was fantastic. It is only around a 10-15 minute walk to the train station. There are shops and restaurants within 10 minutes walk. The man on the front desk did not speak a great deal of English, but was very friendly and courteous. We only had one night, and did not have any meals at the hotel so cannot make any comments on the food. Overall it met our needs of a place to stay to allow us to spend a little time in Kawaguchiko itself, and then the following day to get quick access to Mt Fuji (bus from Kawaguchiko station takes about 45-50 mins to Mt Fuji 5th station).
