Our stay at this house was not what I would call relaxing, or even acceptable. First thing we noticed was one of the 3 rooms smelled strongly of urine. We informed the hosts immediately and they took 2 days to come and even look at/smell the room (but didn’t clean it!!!) then they finally sent someone else out after 3 days! And the person they sent just swiffered the floor really quick. What a joke, the room still reeked and we were unable to use it. Aside from the smell, the house straight across the small road had construction the whole time and we literally couldn’t get our cars in or out of the driveway without asking them to move their tractor (not to mention the noise). There were also cockroaches in the house and the back yard abuts a parking lot to a bar. Some pros: the location to the body surf beach is great and the upstairs master is spacious. I would not consider renting with this property management company again. We ended up moving houses because of all the issues and they only gave us a refund for the days we ended up not staying there, and they never even considered giving us a refund for the days we had to drag the mattress in the living room for one of our couples to sleep out of the smell of pee.

My family and I came to Hawaii for a month. We visited Oaho, Maui and finished with Kauai. We all agreed Kauai was the best. Staying at this home was a short walk to the beach. We cooked many family meals and had a great time.

Mostly a good experience

Pros:-location location location-clean-stocked with most things needed for cooking/grillingCons:-only included a "starter pack" of necessities (Toilet paper, garbage bags)-advertised boogie boards when there were noneOverall, a good stay but frustrating to have to make special trips out to buy basic necessities. Seems like an easy fix and managers basically told us we were out of luck when we asked about these issues.

Family vacation

This property was perfect for our vacation. The house is very spacious and well appointed with everything you will need to enjoy the Garden Island including beach chairs and umbrellas, snorkeling gear and more. Just a short walk to Poipu beach and restaurants. Be sure to check out Kalapaki Joes happy hour with great specials on pupus (Hawaiian for appetizers) and drinks. You will not be disappointed when renting Sunset Hale.

Dream vacation in Kauai

The house was perfect for us! We walked to the beach daily and our littles (4,5,5,) loved to walk too. As the grandparents, we loved having our own suite upstairs. This gave the rest of the family their space too. The house was perfect for us, and we appreciated the boogie boards and beach chairs. It was 9 days of paradise - we look forward to returning!

Nice stay-walk to Poipu Beach

We enjoyed our stay here and it is a short walk to Poipu beach and the restaurant Kalaki Joes. Well equipped and clean, it was good for our family with 6 adults and one child. The kitchen had most items we needed. Our only gripe was sometimes late night noise from the bar’s parking lot close by.

Magical

My experience was definitely biased by the fact that I was returning to a vacation rental that I used to stay at as a kid after 25 years, but it was an amazing, nostalgic experience for me. A 2-minute walk from a fantastic beach (and a view of the water from the master suite's patio), this property has everything you need for a great time in Po'ipu Beach, Kaua'i. The property management was super pleasant and responsive and even promptly came to take care of minor issues I insisted could wait and were not a big deal. I loved that I could communicate with them over SMS. There was good AC throughout the house, and while the kitchen was a bit small, it was well stocked with useful cooking equipment. I also appreciated all the beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear, various sizes of water shoes, and other accessories in the outside shed. There's so much more I could say, but this was supposed to be a summary! I will definitely be back, and it won't take me another 25 years!
