I had an extremely disappointing experience at Parguera Plaza Hotel. I booked a “Deluxe Ocean View King” room for 3 people directly through the hotel’s website, expecting an ocean view and a sofa bed as advertised. However, I was lied to and told that it did not include the sofa bed. I assumed I mis-booked the room, and as such had to book another room. Upon checkout we realize we had booked the room for 3, Oceanview, and they had not even given that room to us. Because of this misrepresentation, I had been forced to book an additional room at an extra cost of over $200, which not necessary.
The night of the stay they had a party. I was told they would have a party going on. I was not informed about how raucous the party would be. I did not expect them to be breaking Puerto Rico noise ordinance laws. The music from the event continued well past 4 a.m., making it impossible to sleep until around 5 a.m. In fact, they turned the music up louder than prior to 2 at around 2 a.m. To make matters worse, throughout my stay, neither room provided hot water—a basic amenity that should have been available.
Overall, the combination of being lied to about accommodations, an extremely disruptive, illegal noise environment, and lack of essential services made for an unacceptable stay. And they refuse to take responsibility for lying about the nature of the accommodations.
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.
