Once built by miners when Leura was still surrounded by bushland, this charming cottage now blends heritage character with modern comfort. Picture yourself sipping a glass of wine by the fireplace or enjoying a cup of tea in the nostalgic sunroom — it’s easy to imagine the stories of those who once called this place home.

The Space



Highland Cottage is ideal for families and friends looking to enjoy the authentic Blue Mountains lifestyle with all the comforts of modern living.



We’re just a short 700-metre stroll to Leura Mall and the train station, yet surrounded by peaceful greenery — with maple trees, lemon trees, and even strawberries growing around the property.



Step through the bright and spacious sunroom, perfect for your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine while watching the sunrise or sunset.



Bedrooms & Layout



All three bedrooms are elegantly styled and furnished with luxurious linen, down duvets, French flax pillowcases, and electric blankets for year-round comfort.

Bedroom 3: 1 x Single bed – ideal for a child or solo guest



The cottage features two working fireplaces — one in the lounge and one in the kitchen.



Living & Dining



Relax in the cosy lounge, complete with a digital TV, large sofa, and the warmth of the original fireplace — perfect for gathering with loved ones.



The spacious kitchen and dining area forms the heart of the home, featuring another fireplace with a classic cooktop where you can still boil water. The dining table seats up to six guests, creating a warm and communal atmosphere for shared meals after a day exploring the mountains.



Throughout the home, you’ll find original artworks by Melbourne-based artist Cate Maddie, known for her modern take on natural still-life scenes.



Pet-Friendly Stay



Your furry friends are welcome at Highland Cottage!

Our fully fenced backyard with lush gardens makes it a safe and enjoyable space for pets to explore.



Please bring your own pet bedding and bowls, and kindly keep pets off the furniture and beds.

A $50 pet fee per pet per stay applies (maximum of 2 pets).



Seasons in Leura



Autumn: The garden glows with golden maple leaves — a photographer’s dream.



Winter: A favourite season in the mountains — enjoy the indoor fireplaces with firewood provided (June–August). Additional firewood can be purchased from nearby petrol stations.



Year-round comfort: Gas heating warms the lounge and kitchen quickly, while split-system air conditioning in both main bedrooms keeps you cool in summer and cosy in winter.

Please enter the total number of guests when booking so we can prepare sufficient towels and linen.



The base rate includes up to 4 guests. Additional guests are charged $60 per person per night.



Out of respect for this historic home and our peaceful neighbourhood, we ask that you remove shoes indoors and avoid loud gatherings or parties.
