This is NOT a three-star hotel. Itâs not even a hotel! Itâs got a few rooms upstairs from a mediocre pub. I cannot believe so many people have raved about this place. What is the appeal? I was fooled into thinking Iâd be staying in a charming inn, and instead it was a three-story walk-up to a tiny, badly-lit room with worn out carpeting. People said it was conveniently located, and instead it was in an unappealing, semi-suburban neighborhood with poorly lit streets well outside the main city â think Queens instead of Manhattan. The wifi didnât work, the air conditioning didnât work, and one of the faucets didnât work. And it was NOT cheap - almost $200 a night, all told! We stayed there before heading to the Cotswolds for three days, and decided not to return on the fourth day as planned. I tried to cancel our reservation three full days in advance â for a Thursday night, not a weekend â and was told they have a âno cancellation policy.â I understand why, because once you see what this place really is, youâll want to cancel the rest of your stay, too. Do not be fooled by the reviews.
