For drinking and cooking, Lone Pine Cabin has a dedicated RO (reverse osmosis) tap right at the kitchen sink, giving you fresh filtered water whenever you want it. The cabin’s well water system is tested and safe for everyday use as well. The property runs on a septic system, so please avoid long showers and do not flush wipes, feminine products, paper towels, or anything other than toilet paper. Excessive water use or flushing prohibited items may result in a $500 fee.
Linens & Laundry:
Bath towels are provided for indoor use. A washer and dryer are available should you wish to refresh towels or clothing during your stay.
Outdoor Firewood:
If you intend to use the outdoor firepit, we encourage you to bring your own firewood. If you would like outdoor firewood provided, please message us ahead of your stay for pricing. Firewood present on the property or along the tree line is not for guest use.
Indoor Firewood & Fireplace Safety:
Indoor fireplace use is limited to provided/purchased indoor firewood only. Please message us for more details.
The glass door must remain fully closed while the fireplace is burning.
Outdoor firewood can only be used outdoors.
Coffee & Tea:
Starter coffee and tea are provided. For longer stays or specific preferences, guests are welcome to bring additional coffee they enjoy.
Wildlife:
Please do not feed wildlife. Geese, ducks, and other animals regularly visit the property. Enjoy them from a distance.
During the warmer months, geese may be present on the lawn, and goose droppings can occur as part of normal lakefront living.
When available, feel free to feed the songbirds using the backyard bird feeder. Bird seed is provided and located in the container to the right of the laundry closet.
Winter Safety:
The lake is used at your own risk. Ice conditions can vary. Please dress appropriately for cold weather and use caution when exploring outside.
Private Areas:
The garage, boat shed, master bedroom closet, and locked cabinets/drawers are private and not accessible to guests.
Fire Bans:
Fire bans may be in effect depending on the season. A QR code and link to Parkland County’s fire advisory page are provided in the cabin.
Bunkhouse Access:
The bunkhouse is located in a separate building beside the main cabin. It is accessed from either the backyard or front yard.
Seasonal Decor & Holiday Stays:
Lone Pine Cabin is decorated for the holiday season with festive, cozy touches including a realistic artificial Christmas tree, garlands, and warm accent lighting.
All candles are LED and remote-controlled for guest safety.
Holiday decor is typically displayed from November through late January, though exact dates may vary year to year.
If your stay falls close to these dates and you’d like the decor set up a bit earlier or left up longer, please message us in advance and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
Cameras:
For security and insurance, the property has four exterior cameras:
• At the main entrance overlooking driveway
• On the boat house facing the northeast yard
• On the deck facing the northwest yard
• On the yard light by the water, facing the lake and dock
No cameras face any indoor spaces.
Spiders are common around lakefront homes. They are harmless, and while we do our best to keep them away, cobwebs can appear quickly.
Mayflies appear for a brief time in May. Although they can be an annoyance, they do not bite and are vital to the health of the lake.
