Lorelei of the Lake - Charming Cabin & Guest Cabin on the Shore of Lake Superior

Lorelei of the Lake - located just feet away from majestic Lake Superior on legendary Cascade Beach Road, "Lorelei" is the perfect property for all seasons. Comprised of a 2 bedroom main cabin and 1 bedroom guest cabin, this property was completely renovated in 2021. And while it has all the amenities you'd expect from a new project, the renovation stayed true to classic Minnesota cabin architecture and will take you back in time.

The 2 bedroom main cabin has a wonderful open floor plan that features a combined gathering room/kitchen area with a wood-burning fieldstone fireplace for those often chilly nights (fire wood included of course!!). It features classic Minnesota aged pine walls and ceilings, painted hardwood floors, a lakeside master bedroom with a queen sized bed and a guest bedroom with a queen bed and single built-in bed nook. The bathroom is also newly remodeled with new cabinetry, stone countertops, fixtures, and a tile shower. The main gathering area features a built-in game/puzzle table, a wood burning fieldstone fireplace, along with rustic, yet comfortable, furniture and sitting areas for a rainy day or movie night! The kitchen is well equipped for the chef of the family with new appliances, high end dishware, small appliances, and cutlery. But the highlight of the cabin is picturesque Lake Superior, which is located only 30’ lakeward from the cabin. The gradual elevation to the lake allows for fun exploration along the rocky shoreline, and includes a lakeside firepit and an expansive lakeside deck for morning coffee or outside dining.

The guest cabin is equally quaint, also newly remodeled, and furnished “to the nines”. In addition to the queen bed, there is a daybed (single) with a trundle underneath (also single) to accommodate 4 guests in the guest cottage. Other features include a Jotul gas fireplace, a small “coffee bar”, a small table for cards, breakfast, or coffee, and a newly renovated bathroom with new cabinetry, stone countertops, fixtures, and a tile shower.

For those that need to stay connected, Lorelei also includes lightning fast High Speed Wi-Fi throughout the structures and a high definition Smart TV in the main cabin for streaming shows and movies.

This property is perfect for a family, an extended family, or a couple families; we have a strict limit of 9 occupants. There are 3 Queen beds (1 per bedroom) and 3 single beds. We do keep our calendar updated at all times and so if you are seeing availability then it’s likely available. Upon reservation confirmation you'll receive a complete 'what to bring' list in advance so you are prepared for your time up north. And feel free to inquire with any questions you may have and we’ll be prompt to reply! We pride ourselves on keeping our property and structures/equipment pristine and are certain we'll exceed your expectations in that regard.

Lorelei is perfectly located northeast of the town of Lutsen about 3 miles, and southwest of Grand Marais by 14 miles. For those planning to ski, the Gondola at Lutsen Mountain is 6 miles away. For those looking to snowmobile, you can jump on the main trail less than 1 mile from the cabin. And for the hikers there are literally dozens of world class hiking trails located with 10 miles. And for the wanderers in the group the towns of Grand Marais, Lutsen, Tofte, and Schroeder are filled with fun shops and galleries to explore. Lorelei and the North Shore Area is wonderful in all 4 seasons.
