We booked the South Lawn as a base for visiting a friend in nearby Bournemouth, as it was dog-friendly. It’s a lovely building in a beautiful location, and was so welcoming to dogs. Not just dog-friendly, but actually made them feel truly welcomed, as there was a doggy pack given to us on arrival, and a dog-friendly area in the restaurant where you could have breakfast and dinner with your four-legged companion. Bella, our Jack Russell, was even offered a sausage for breakfast!
The room was very well appointed, and the bathroom was immaculate.
Highly recommended for dog owners!

Fabulous rooms, bar is great - so are the staff in there. Breakfast was superb.

Lovely hotel
Really enjoyed her stay.. lovely comfortable and spacious room. Would recommend to friends and family. Hopefully we will visit again in the future.

Nice and quiet
Pros:The traditional comforts
Cons:To include breakfast
Location:It is near to Bournemouth, with all its facilities
Although we had a nice stay at Southlawn, and the hotel was very comfortable, we were disturbed a little by the arrival and stay of a wedding party, which was quite rowdy. Otherwise all was well with our stay...

Wedding & Overnight Stay
Location:As above - this is a very pretty part of England. Didn't explore but the hotel is on the main road (although set back so traffic is not a problem)
We attended a friends wedding here; the ceremony, wedding breakfast, after drinks and evening disco all held in the same place, plus we booked to stay overnight. All in all very happy with the stay, food was excellent (portion size a little small on the breakfast) and the room for the ceremony was laid out nicely, clean bright and staff clearly were caring towards the bride and groom throughout and they were very happy too. Only criticisms would be the bar has very few seats so a lot of standing around waiting for the room to be swapped, but the prices in the bar were reasonable and the service quick and friendly. Rooms are a little warm and the radiators need bleeding (!) but other than that looks like they have been recently refurbished and are clean and bright. The function room has some worrying looking cracks on the wall but that is either new plaster or plaster in need of refurbishment. Breakfast is a plated traditional English with limited continental (toast, cereal yoghurt) and the food was freshly cooked and really hot.
Location is very pretty and the grounds are well maintained and access is easy with loads of spacious parking.
really enjoyed the stay and can vouch for our friends and other guests also being pleased with the wedding itself and the accommodations/hospitality.
