Diese gemĂŒtliche, rustikale HĂŒtte liegt am unberĂŒhrten Six Mile Lake, etwa 11 km vom Meer entfernt, und bietet eine private, 250 Meter lange Uferpromenade. Perfekt fĂŒr einen ruhigen RĂŒckzug weg von Menschen, Verkehr, Umweltverschmutzung und dem Stress des modernen digitalen Lebens. Abgeschiedener Ort ohne sichtbare Nachbarn, 10 Minuten von der Stadt Machias entfernt. Viel Spaß beim Beobachten der Seetaucher, beim Paddeln in unserem Kanu, beim Angeln und beim hervorragenden, krautfreien Schwimmen.

Off-grid, saisonale Kabine (Mai - November). Keine SanitĂ€ranlagen, fließendes Wasser oder Strom. Sauberes Wasser zum Duschen und Abwaschen von Geschirr aus dem See und aus RegenfĂ€ssern (GĂ€ste sollten Trinkwasser mitbringen.) Gut ausgestattete KĂŒche

Aufgrund ihrer einfachen und rustikalen Ausstattung ist die HĂŒtte besonders fĂŒr Wanderer, Camper und Menschen geeignet, die die Ruhe und Einsamkeit der Natur lieben.

Mitte Juni bis Mitte September (unsere Hochsaison), wochenweise vermietet, mit einem Samstag-Wechseltag. Außerhalb der Saison sind die Termine mit einem Minimum von zwei NĂ€chten flexibel.

Hunde jeder GrĂ¶ĂŸe und Art sind in der Kabine willkommen und haben viel Platz, um sich von der Leine zu bewegen. Hunde, die gerne schwimmen, lieben diese Eigenschaft.

Amazing property! Photos don't capture the beauty of this place. Inside of cabin is unbelievable. Modern fixtures, incredible ceiling fans, light dimmer on all overhead lights, sky lights, large windows and a beautiful bathroom. I could go on. Fully stocked with everything you need, just bring food. To say my dogs enjoyed their stay would be an understatement. Back deck is gated and a great place for the dogs to chill and dry off without worrying about them. The host, Anne, was super nice and available if needed. No issues with mosquitoes either. Definitely will be returning.

Peaceful Escape

Not only is the cabin gorgeous but the location and the property could not be better for a quiet escape in the woods. The pups loved swimming in the lake. The star viewing is also unmatched. The whole experience is perfect.

First of all, Anne was very prompt in all communications and offered guidance for our stay. The cabin was just amazing! We stayed 4 nights with our dog and we loved every minute of it! The cabin is totally renovated and everything is new and has anything you need! It is pristine and provides such warmth the minute you open the door! It is in the wilderness overlooking a beautiful lake and the tranquility provides for memories of a lifetime!

Terrific Camp Experience

Great private location with very comfortable and clean camp. Gravel access road might be a challenge for someone with a car that has low clearance, but it added to the remote feel and we didn’t have any issues with our Subaru. The host was great and everything was as advertised. The family really enjoyed mornings and evenings by the water’s edge and hanging out on the deck. The lake was quiet and a fantastic place to paddle without the worry of speeding boats.

UTV getaway!!

Our host Anne, was very accommodating and pleasant. We had and issue with the lock box apon arriving and Anne was quick to respond. The location offered solace and convenience. We were able to fish off shore, and caught a couple brookies. It was pet friendly and safe. Our 4-legged "girl" was comfortable there. Very private lot with a beautiful view. We road the Sunrise trail, which was close by. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay..

Great secluded cabin

Very well appointed and newly remodeled cabin with great seclusion. You see no other cabins or people from the wonderful porch and dock. It is small, but ideal for two (there are two twin beds in the loft, but you need to be very careful climbing the latter). Also, ideal place for our golden retriever! She loved it there, with water to swim and plenty of squirrels to chase. The lake is small and stocked only with trout (which are very difficult to catch in the summer, as they are deep in the middle of the lake). I caught only one small one. However, fantastic bass fishing in nearby lakes. I hired a local guide for fly fishing (Bill Robinson with Denny River Camp -- highly recommended) and caught about two dozen bass each of the two days I fished. Smallmouth bass fishing heaven. Helen's in Machias is an excellent restaurant, but not much more nearby (other than great fishing). One drawback with the cabin is very poor internet (to be expected, however, in such a secured area). We were fine without TV but missed being able to surf the web :). Bring plenty of books to read. Finally, Anne was a terrific host!

Absolutely Perfect

My wife and I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay at this little cabin in the woods. The freshly renovated cabin felt cozy and had all the necessities to make us feel at home during our week stay. The setting of the cabin is breathtaking with a remote lake about 100 feet from the cabin. We enjoyed swimming, canoeing, and fishing in the lake and didn’t see another person on it during our entire stay. It was the perfect setting for our Maine vacation. Our only regret is not renting it a few more days.

Amazing!! Must see for yourself

All great things to say about this beautiful property. If you are looking for absolute peace and quiet away from people and noise this is the place to be. Cabin is gorgeous and clean. Relaxing on the back deck overlooking the lake was incredible. Perfect trees for a hammock!! We canoed on the lake and had it all to ourselves. It was awesome! Anne is a great host and is very responsive to all communications. 10/10 recommend. We will be back!

Completely amazing camp!

I have zero bad to say about this property. We were the first to stay in this all newly renovated cabin. Everything was so functional and nice! Dishwasher, laundry machines, big shower, etc
 Very secluded and great place for a family getaway. The beds were so comfy. There are windows everywhere! 369 view of it all. I’m guessing the price might go up but it’s very worth it! Amenities were all there. Easy place to rest your head with luxury feel deep in the Maine woods.

Secluded Cabin

When driving up to the cabin I was happy we had taken our truck! The road in would be rough for a smaller car or one lower to the ground. Once at the cabin it was infact secluded, very quite, and absolutely relaxing. During our stay the weather was not the best. It was cold and rainy so having the wood stove was great to keep the dampness and coolness out of the cabin. The out house was obviously just that. Better in comparison to your other options while camping. Between rain we were able to explore the lake in our canoes with an easy paddle. Also the fishing right off the dock is good too! We caught beatiful brook trout and many catfish! We also did some rock painting to add to the ones around the tree on the deck and in the cabin. Finally, town is not far from the cabin should you need to pick up any supplies. Communication with the owner was easy and super responsive to our questions. Over all I would absolutely book this cabin again for myself and family.

Quiet, convenient, and everything I wanted.

I loved staying at this cabin! I had never been to this part of Maine before staying here. I drove up Route 1 from Portland to the cute little (very small) town of Machias, hooked a right and headed into the woods. The cabin is about a 15 minute drive from town, about 30 minutes from Roque Bluffs state park and also pretty close to hiking in Cutler and the Canadian border in Lubec. The Cabin itself is wonderful. It has a very comfortable queen bed on the main floor and two twin beds in the loft. The oil lamps provided great light and ambiance. The woodburning stove gave me a bit of trouble at first but the owners were very easy to communicate with and I was able to get their help to get everything going. The lake is just down the hill from the cabin and the back-porch has an amazing view. There is no one else around so it gets very very quiet and very dark at night which was a very new experience for a city boy like me. There is only an outhouse, which was odd at first but I got used to it. If you are thinking of staying in a rustic cabin then this is the place!
