The pictures here donât half do this lovely property justiceâthe beach is quiet in the off-season, perfect for serene walks, beach combing, or stargazing. While we didnât see any dolphins, we did see numerous sea birds and a few live horseshoe crabs. We were sad the Broadkill Store wasnât open for the season, but it was worth the walk to see the informative, illustrated posters in the cases outside, explaining some of the things we were seeing on the sand. The views from the house are stunning, expansive enough to feel like youâre the only people around for miles. The house was just a bit chilly with the cold snap this week, but the main floor fireplace is super toasty. We were looking for a quiet place to work/rest for the week, and thatâs exactly what we found at Sandcastle during our stay. The house was thoroughly stocked with anything we might need, and Food Lion was close for anything we forgot. Tips for future guests: the sunrise out the water-side windows is spectacular, but the sunsets out the square windows by the stairs are glorious! We didnât get to try PoâBoys, but we did visit Tequila Real in Milton, and that was really good, as was Tokyo Steakhouse & Sushi in Lewes, only a short drive away. If youâre looking for a heavenly little breather from lifeâs stressors, you have found the right placeâhighly recommend! Thanks for a beautiful stay!
