Les Frênes - Two bedrooms - five people

On a small private island located on the Charente river between Angoulême and Cognac, on the route of the bike path "La Flow vélo", and in the immediate vicinity of the pretty beach of the seaside site of Bain des Dames, comfortable house with private garden overlooking the river. Many activities on site: kayaking, paddle, bicycles, mountain biking and a large games room including billiards, table tennis, table football, darts, board games and many toys for children.

The House benefits from a private garden that overlooks the river. You have the house and its adjoining garden for yourself. Each house has a private garden. The residents of each house cannot cross paths if they confine themselves to the part of the garden dedicated to them. But nothing prevents you from linking acquaintances, it is as you wish.

The house is composed of 3 rooms:

- A living room with a kitchenette (fridge, dishwasher, hob, combi oven, filter coffee maker for ground coffee), dining area and lounge area with TV and DVD player
- A first bedroom with 1 double bed (140)
- A second bedroom with 3 single beds (bunk beds + pull-out bed)
A bathroom completes this set (shower, sink and toilet)

You also benefit from shared spaces between the Maison des Aunes, the Maison des Frênes and your hosts: park and private woods (10,000 m2 of land in total), swimming pool (5mx10m) and games room of 160 m2. Outside the pool you can enjoy the pleasure of swimming in the river.

The house is located on the island of Malvy, a small private island . It is part of the beautiful village of Mosnac-Saint-Simeux and is accessed by a bridge. It is nestled in a green valley and sheltered by the river that surrounds it, so it is a very quiet place.

For a cultural getaway, the island is ideally located between Angoulême and Cognac, respectively 25 and 45 minutes by car. These cities benefit from the label city of art and history and many festivals and events are scheduled throughout the year. There are many villages and sites to visit as well as many activities near the island.

Many activities are offered on the pretty seaside site of the Bain des Dames, which is located like the island of Malvy, on the route of the bike path "La Flow vélo" (pretty sandy beach supervised in summer, slides, swings, zip line, archery, paddle, pedal boat, kayak, fitness trail, bowling alley ...). To reach the Bain des Dames, it takes 15 minutes by bike via the bike path, or 5 minutes by car.

Upon your arrival we give you the key to the house and the remote control of the bridge grille, and take the opportunity to give you all the useful information and answer your questions.

We can welcome you from 17:00 pm and at the latest until 20:00 pm. We are grateful if you let us know the approximate time you expect to arrive.

Departures are no later than 11:00 am. Please leave the cleaning fee payment, if you have opted for this service, inside the house, lock the door, and slip the keys into the mailbox located at the entrance of the bridge. We thank you for scrupulously respecting these instructions so that the cleaning lady is able to access the house to prepare it for our next travelers.

Extremely quiet place. The launching of the kayak and paddles at your disposal is done directly from the garden adjoining your house. You are alone in the world, in the middle of nature, cut off from civilization... But only 5 minutes drive from Châteauneuf-sur-Charente (CP 16120), a city on a human scale (3500 inhabitants), enjoying a seaside resort, and offering all amenities:

- Bathing site of the Bain des Dames Chemin de l'île Mattard, supervised sandy beach in July and August, ping-pong tables, fitness trail, bowling alley, slides, swings, zip line, beach volleyball court, archery, handball, football and badminton, kayak, pedal boat and paddle rental)

- Outdoor swimming pool 2 boulevard Gambetta, equipped with a large swimming pool with several water lines and a small pool for children. Around the pools, a solarium allows you to rest in the sun. Open in July and August

- Open air market, rue Berthe and Jules Noblet, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8am to 12pm, 3 stalls on Tuesdays and up to 10 stalls on Saturdays: fruits & vegetables, fishmongers, butchers, poultry and clothes on Thursday and Saturday.

- Covered market, rue Berthe and Jules Noblet, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8am to 12pm: fish, meat and poultry, fruit and vegetables, bread and cheese.

- Monthly fair every last Saturday of each month, Place de la Liberté, Boulevard de la République (florist stalls, clothes, haberdashery, books ...).

You can reach Chateauneuf-sur-Charente by bike, allow 15 minutes of travel (30 minutes round trip).
The train station of Châteauneuf-sur-Charente is located 5 minutes drive from the island of Malvy, it serves Angoulême, Cognac, Saintes, Royan, La Rochelle ...

Angoulême train station is a 25-minute drive from Malvy Island.

The nearest airports are those of Limoges, Poitiers and Bordeaux approximately 1h30 drive from the island of Malvy.
You can order your groceries in advance: there is a Super U drive in Chateauneuf-sur-Charentes (5 minutes from the house).
