Welcome to the Sundog- the perfect spot for one family or several families to gather & enjoy your vacation at MP 13.5 in Nags Head. We are a convenient 5 minute walk to the ocean (we are where the OBX narrows and are closer to the ocean than a lot of homes that are on the oceanside- we are on the soundside).

Our home is packed with amenities to reduce what you have to pack, buy or rent. Our goal is to provide a home where most of the things you want are already here- we have been coming to the OBX for over 30 years and hated how most rentals you have so much to bring since the homes had limited amenities or things were old and damaged (we update house photos yearly so you know what to expect). We offer an inground saltwater pool (option to have pool heated for a fee), 7 person hot tub, game room with pool table, multicade arcade game, smart tv's & surround system, bikes, pool & beach amenities, tons of parking, just a bike ride away from many favorites (restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, Jockey's Ridge), less than 1/4 mile from the hospital.

Ocean views from master bedroom and dining room & feel the amazing breezes from every deck. The sunrises and sunsets you can capture at this home are unreal
We mean what we say we want you to have an amazing experience with us as we don't wait until things are broken to replace them. Here are some of the things that make our home different:very clean home (seriously this is something we take very serious & take pride in and ensure our cleaning staff does a thorough clean after every guest checks out), tons of parking (Super important as you can't park on street in the Outer Banks), deck access from every bedroom (but don't worry decks have gates to ensure kids don't wonder off), pool and hot tub are gated, great air conditioning (have uv germicidal- no moldy smelling house here like so many beach homes), updated decorations/furnishings, comfortable beds (even the pull out couch has a gel mattress pad), comfortable linens & fluffy towels, fully stocked kitchen (with spices, coffee, non-perishable creamers, sweeteners, teas, etc), paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap at every sink-and not just a starter pack you won't need more while you are staying with us. And seriously I hate cheap products you will enjoy what we provide you. Blow dryers in every bathroom, Laundry detergent, 4 hammocks, 7 smart tvs, surround system on 1st & 3rd floor with speakers on outside decks and by pool, we go through home after every guest seeing if we need to replace things and disposing of broken/damaged things replacing them with new if needed. Additional amenities: 5 adult bikes, beach accessories(chairs, wagons, umbrellas, sand toys, cooler), beach towels, pool toys, horse shoes, yard size connect four, fire pit, grill, spa robes, and much more to ensure you enjoy your stay!

Our home is in a neighborhood, Old Nags Head Cove. The community has great amenities as well: 2 soundside beaches, basketball, pickleball & volleyball court, small playground, fishing pier and several fishing spots with benches, community pool, roads that lend themselves to walking or biking, water access - launching space for kayaks, paddleboards & canoe, boat ramp - community charges guests $40 per week to use boat ramp. Our property has enough space for boat parking. We hope you enjoy our peaceful oasis! The home, pool & hot tub is cleaned & sanitized after every stay at our home.

Person booking reservation must be 25 years or older *Max of 9 adults per reservation *Home is within a community, and we ask that you honor our quiet hours, which are from 11pm-8am

*Reservations require a signed lease & copy of id of renter within 24 hours.

*Because Saturday/Sunday traffic is crazy at the beach during the summer & we have realized it is hard to ensure that things will get fixed & cleaned well( if damaged upon a previous guests check out) with a Saturday/Sunday check in/check out. Because of this, we don't accept check in/check outs on Saturday/Sunday.

Beautiful House

We really enjoyed our stay here. Unfortunately, it rained during the majority of our trip, but we still had a great time. The house has plenty of amenities and supplies, and we were very comfortable here. We especially enjoyed the pool and hot tub. It was definitely one of the nicest rentals I’ve stayed in. Anna’s house is perfect. It has everything one needs when spending time at the beach. In addition, the house is fully furnished with great appliances and kitchen equipment, so home chefs can whip up any meals needed after a day in the sun. I’d 100% stay at this house again and would strongly recommend this location to anyone looking for a trip to the OBX.

Every day was an adventure starting with the horse safari, hiking the dunes, fishing pier, all the way down to the Hatteras lighthouse. Stopping alot to photograph birds, sand and sea. A great time was had by all.

We had an excellent stay over Thanksgiving. As described, the house included plenty of amenities (coffee, detergent, paper towels, etc) and kitchen items, which made it really convenient to arrive with just the our necessities.Plenty of fun things to do for all ages - pool table, arcade game, hot tub, etc. Everyone from age 6 through grandparents had fun. It is also a convenient location. Very short walk to the beach, with close grocery stores, and close to other fun attractions. We spent a nice afternoon at Jockey Ridge State Park, and when it was too cold to have fun outside, we had fun trips to the aquarium, and a bowling alley a short drive away.We would love to come back and stay again.

Relaxing and fun Nag's Head vacation

The house is beautiful, with everything visitors could want. We loved the third floor living space, with sunrise and sunset views, and decks on both sides to enjoy them from. It's a perfect location in Nag's Head, close to the beach, the sound, stores and restaurants. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub every day as well. Fabulous vacation home

We were very impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of this home. It was wonderfully equipped, with delightful amenities (k cups, candy!) and very convenient to the beach, stores and shopping. Having the bikes right there, the grill, and the pool made it a complete oasis! I've stayed in many VRBO's and this was one of the best. It handled the amount of people it said it could very well.

We really enjoyed our stay with every luxury you can think of. Bar, game room, pool, hot tub, jetted bathroom tub in master. Clean, and had more than we could ever need and left wanting for nothing while there. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us, and for all the thought and careful planning for a wonderful, relaxing stay.

Thanksgiving

This property is in a great location and the layout is perfect for a large family or 2 families. It was very clean and so well stocked. Everything is close by so there is an endless list of fun things to do. Lots of games stocked in the house as well as hot tub/pool and pool table. Will hopefully be renting again!

Great house in Nags Head

This house was perfect for our stay in Nags Head! It was a short walk to the beach, and their beach wagon was very helpful. The pool and hot tub were the perfect place to hang after a day on the beach. The house was very clean and stocked with everything we needed. They had tons of beach towels. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. And Anna was extremely responsive with any issues! Overall, a great stay!

Great Introduction to the Outer Banks

Anna’s Sundog rental was the perfect place for our family get-together and first trip to the Outer Banks. She provided more than we could have asked for and was available for any questions I had along the way. Being on the Sound-side, friends who are very familiar with the area were concerned about access to the ocean, but the light located a block over made the crossing doable, even with a flock of children. Anna suggested a golf cart rental place and that for sure helped get things to and from the beach, but wasn’t absolutely necessary. It really was a great location and we all enjoyed our stay. We hope to stay there for many summers to come!
