Unfortunately, my stay at Negril Palms was disappointing from beginning to end and did not align with the 3.5-star rating listed on Expedia.
Check-in was delayed by nearly three hours, with no meaningful communication or apology. Upon finally accessing the room, it was immediately clear that the property is outdated and poorly maintained. The room was extremely sparsely furnished, consisting only of a bed, very old side tables, a noisy refrigerator, and what could loosely be described as a desk. There was no dresser, closet storage, or luggage rack, making it impractical and uncomfortable for anything beyond a very short stay. Towels provided were visibly dirty, which raised concerns about cleanliness overall.
Security also appeared to be lacking. The property did not feel well monitored or secure, which was especially concerning at night.
Food and beverage service was another major issue. One restaurant order took approximately one hour and forty-five minutes. Additionally, the on-site âbarâ was essentially nonfunctional. It had little to nothing in stock and could barely make basic drinks. I would not consider it a bar by any reasonable standard, despite being advertised as one.
Overall, Negril Palms felt poorly managed and far below the expectations created by its star rating. The lack of cleanliness, minimal amenities, slow service, and absence of basic hospitality services made this a very frustrating experience. I would not recommend this property.
