Excellent Thanksgiving getaway

We had an excellent time away from it all. The cabin was perfect for a quiet and peaceful long weekend.Make sure you read the instructions about the location and getting into the house, because the property manager may take a bit to respond in case you need assistance. Other than this, this house is perfect. We had everything we needed for a great thanksgiving weekend.

Hidden gem at the end of the road

Absolutely loved this place. Plenty of extras to go along. Fully stocked kitchen for cooking. The view was absolutely amazing even though the creek was dry. They clearly stated this in the posting which I liked. The patios are perfect if you are an outdoor person. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here. 10/10 and a very quiet neighborhood if that's what you were looking for

My Anniversary

I did not have to contact the property manager. Everything was just fine. Except for the problem with the river. My husband missed his favorite hobbie. My baby fur was happy walking in the yard. I was very unstress, resting and enjoying the nature, birds and silence. Too many steps for elderlies. Please consider ramps for humans and pets. Love this house and sure we will return soon.

Not as advertised

No AC and no real solution offered. If you enjoy sleeping in 90-degree heat and spending your days in a sauna, then you will love it here. Not a waterside property. There is no creek. It's a dry creekbed, and the listing needs to be updated to reflect that. Not cleaned well - found blood pressure medicine and old food on the floor - dangerous for pets and children. There were also dead bugs and dust on the floor. The water tastes like dirt. I would recommend bringing bottled water to drink, make coffee, and brush your teeth. the property manger is responsive and nice. I did get a partial reimbursement, but I did not feel it was commensurate with what we endured. This is pretty, and with more attention to detail and an updated listing, the issues could be corrected for future renters.

Wonderful spot!

This was a perfect place for our long weekend! They had everything we needed, the place was clean, nicely decorated and in a great location. The large deck was perfect for sitting with our dog and relaxing. We loved all of the little touches they had for dogs! Our dog loved the dog beds! We will definitely be booking again next time we stay in the New Braunfels area!

Great Creekside Getaway

We spent a fantastic long weekend here and enjoyed every minute of it. Normally on little trips like this, we'll pop into town for a bit, but between the fishing and the relaxing setting, we felt absolutely no desire to leave (I nearly pulled the biggest catfish of my life out of the creek!) There's plenty of room to spread out, and the kitchen has all the cooking supplies you'll need. The outdoor area is extremely dog-friendly, very capable of keeping them enclosed, but with enough room to run around. The covered deck overlooking the creek was a wonderful setting to hang out, sip some brews, and watch the birds. And yes, the grill works very well. The owners have clearly put a lot of love into this place, and it shows. Five stars all the way.

A gem built with love.

I’m writing this with mixed feelings. You can see with how much love the owners have built this place. It’s very unique. Walking in I nearly just walked right out. The property management is good with checking in but they don’t get the little finishing touches. Having had vacation property of my own I know. The throw blankets were not even folded neatly the futon cover was still wrinkled - it gave a feeling that it was just like the last guests left it. The ornaments on the beautiful private deck has not seen a duster, the bbq was so dirty we opted cooking in the oven. As the sheets where a dark moroon I openend it up to see if it was clean. I hope the owners read this. It’s truly a beautiful, peaceful property. Maybe train the property management how you want it cleaned. Crisp clean white sheets and towels goes a long way. If you going to have throw blankets make sure they are washed and neatly folded before the next guest comes. Upon leaving I stripped the bedding and loaded the machine, as well as the dishwasher, I did not put them on incase of malfunctioning. We put all the garbage out as well. As we left I only got the instructions what cleaning we had to do upon leaving and I just thought - what on earth is the cleaning fee for if I’m doing half the work. All in all would I stay here again. Yes I would.

Peaceful Place

We loved the cabin and the huge beautiful windows to look out of all day. The decks are nice too with gates to enclose pups or kids. The kitchen is well stocked and the drive into town is easy. The only drawback for us was the extra firm bed on a high platform. Not the best if you’re a side sleeper but we enjoyed our stay and so did our pup Penny.

Compared to other experiences this one rated below expectations

The property was as advertised. Very clean, quaint and private! We had an issue with the internet and the property managers weren't able to respond quickly so we figured out the issue and resolved on our own. The property said there was a canoe and kayaks for use however when we got there we realized the canoe would need to be carried down several sets of steps and therefore carried back up and it's not a light canoe! We are not spring chickens so we opted against that. This was disappointing since we rented this particular place since it was on the water with access to these activities. One of the bathroom sinks was also clogged so we only used one sink. The bed was excessively firm, which is ok if you like that. I will probably not be revisiting this particular rental.

The house is AMAZING! Rustic with modern amenities. Super dog friendly (which we loved and so did our dog!) The deck and backyard are stunning with great views. Tubing, restaurants and stores are just a few miles away. The property manager was very friendly and responsive. We can’t wait to go back!

A lovely rustic house on a peaceful creek.

We enjoyed our stay here a lot, including the fenced in yard that let our dog roam free. Everything that we needed was provided. The only downside for us was that the house was extremely dark inside, and that the immediate neighborhood was iffy. Many houses are well-maintained but some much less so, for example with 18 wheelers parked on the lawn or mattresses on the driveway.

Relaxing place to get away

Upon arrival we were a bit surprised by the location. I knew it was at the end of a street in a neighborhood, but across the creek there are modular homes that you are looking at the backside of them. It might have been more bothersome bc someone was blasting music and painting the back of his house when we got there. Once that was over, the relaxing began. So many wonderful nooks to settle into depending on the sun and time of day. Very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen. We took the canoe out with our dog and had a wonderful time. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Beautiful secluded home

Spring break for family of 3 and dog. The property is beautiful! Fenced yard to keep the dog in was very nice. The bed was super firm (perfect for me). The house has everything you could possibly need- kayaks, canoe, fishing poles, corn hole boards, cards and games and so much more. The water was not really flowing but too cold to get in anyway. The gas grill worked fine, however, you can tell it was knocked over previously and flames came out from under the dented hood. We enjoyed the stay!

Perfect Get Away

The cabin was perfect for a short getaway to celebrate our anniversary. The porches and outdoor accommodations were great, just wish the weather had been better. We were a little apprehensive about it being "pet friendly" but the place was spotless and odorless. Hope to come back again - and cross our fingers the weather will cooperate.
