You're right in Newport's historic core—205 Spring Street is prime real estate! Safe, vibrant, and overflowing with coastal heritage—festivals, sailing action, mansions a short walk/drive away. Walkability is unbeatable—no car needed to feel the full pulse of Newport!


Windward Suites properties are all keyless, and instead use keypad smart locks for all of the doors for both the buildings and units. All guests will receive an email the morning of their arrival with the instructions, codes to the doors and Wifi. Super easy!

Check-in time is anytime after 3:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. Please be respectful of these times unless you have contacted us, as we have a cleaning crew who need the time to do a thorough job before and after all of our guests.

There are three on site parking spots which are on a first come first serve basis, there is a city lot on Church St a few blocks away and we have a lot on Oak St, by request only, which is a 5min walk away.


This spacious, unique apartment is a historic winner—two bedrooms (king + full beds), living area pull-out sofa (sleeps 6 total), full stocked kitchen for cooking fun, dining area, two full baths, private patio, multiple smart TVs, mini-split AC/heat, high-speed WiFi, hardwood floors, luxe linens/towels, hairdryer, essentials. Professionally cleaned spotless; dog-friendly with approval.

Ultra-walkable Historic Spring Street downtown Newport RI—no car required! Thames Street hotspots, restaurants, shops, wharfs, and attractions are 5 minutes on foot. Street parking passes or nearby lots (ask host). Uber/Lyft/taxis plentiful; bike rentals close for easy rides. RIPTA buses nearby for regional trips; trolley tours for sightseeing. Nearest Amtrak in Kingston, RI (~20 min drive); T.F. Green Airport (PVD) ~30-40 min. You're set for beaches, mansions, events—pure freedom to explore!

Howland House is a classic historic, four unit, building with the original construction dating back to 1750. It is one of Newport's oldest homes predating the Revolution. It has undergone many updates and renovations to bring new world comfort with an old world feeling.

Located on the first and second floor, Unit 17 comes outfitted with everything you need to feel like you are in a home away from home. As you enter the unit you are welcomed by a large living room with pull out sofa. The living room has both a bathroom and bedroom off of it. The first bedroom with a king size bed, then opens to the second bedroom with a full size bed. From that bedroom you head down a spiral staircase to the first floor kitchen with private outdoor patio.

The kitchen is fully equipped with anything you could need and has a table which can seat six guests. There is also a full size bathroom off of the kitchen. All of Windwards properties are professionally cleaned between guests and come outfitted in high end linens and towels.

There are three on site parking spots, first come first served and we also have an off-site lot 7 min walk away, if needed (by request)

Aside from the cleanliness and uniqueness of the space, it is in one of the most sought after locations in Newport. You are steps away from Thames Street, Bannisters & Bowens Wharf, St. Mary’s church, and endless restaurants, bars, and shopping.

The location was absolutely ideal—just a short walk to coffee shops, restaurants, and local shops, which made getting around and exploring Newport super convenient. Having a parking spot right on the property was also a huge plus.The apartment was spotlessly clean and clearly well cared for. Communication was excellent throughout—quick responses, clear instructions, and a smooth check-in and check-out process made everything easy and stress-free.The only minor drawback was the layout, which felt a bit unconventional at times. The only weird thing was that the bedrooms are set up railroad style, so you walk through one to get to the next and also to get to the kitchen. Wonderful stay on Spring Street

The 2-bedroom apartment on Spring Street was sparkling clean and well-appointed. The location was perfect. Our group comprised of two parents and two children. The bedrooms required passing through to get to the living room or the kitchen, so it could be an awkward arrangement for a group not as accustomed to each other as parents and children. But we loved the patio and the light-filled kitchen. We loved the jaccuzzi bathtub. The beds were very comfortable. We liked walking around the historic neighborbood and down to the wharves. We walked to restaurants and it was an easy drive to the mansions and beaches. We also appreciated the beach towels and beach chairs. We had a GREAT time in Newport!!!

Fantastic location and place!

This is a stunning historic New England property, beautifully restored and updated. It is a unit inside a bigger building and this unit had the 2 beds and baths, 2 floors and the welcome flexibility of a pull out bed in the living room. Decorations were so gorgeous and on point with this place. Beds were very comfortable. Immaculately clean, lovely linens and towels. This location is walkable to everything. The owner gave us recommendations for restaurants which were appreciated and we used. He said the Black Pearl was a must and it was. I would definitely stay here again
