My husband and I rented this charming home for a long weekend in October to visit my husband's 90 year old brother and family that live locally in Norfolk.
Typically when we visit we stay at a hotel in Norfolk...thankfully, it was all booked up and I found this gem of a place instead. Could not have picked a better place to gather and will definitely book this historic home on Chesapeake Bay again.
The wrap around porch was an amazing feature. We spent our mornings on the porch having coffee overlooking the bay and afternoons and evenings leisurely reading or having a cocktail. And, with beach access from the house, we were able to take get daily walks in.
The kitchen has a gas stove, which is a plus for me, and I was able to cook two big family meals without lacking for any cookware ( I did bring all of my own spices with me). Additionally, there is a drip coffee maker as well as a Keurig depending on your preference.
A large dining room table was able to accommodate all ten family members I hosted for dinner.
Despite the home being built in 1917, there is ample hot water and the water pressure was amazing!
Most importantly and the biggest plus about this rental was the host, Quinn. She was in communication with us throughout our stay, just to check to see if everything was as expected or if we needed anything at all...we didn't... but just to have such a communicative host was so appreciated!!
Thank you, Quinn for sharing this lovely home!
