Our small business can be as attentive or as distant as you choose. We just want your stay with us to be relaxed and hassle free.
Located just a mile and a half outside of Horstead, Fat Rascals Retreat offers convenience for all, whether you're interested in visiting The Broads, the beach or perhaps just looking to visit the fine old city of Norwich.
Horstead, adjoined to its sister village, Coltishall is a popular destination for those exploring towns and villages along the Norfolk Broads. Here you can partake in many water activities including canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding! There's also a selection of local pubs and restaurants to enjoy afterwards, with The Recruiting Sergeant well renown for it's fantastic food and service, whilst the The Red Lion is a terrific spot for a drink directly by the river.
There's of course no better way to explore The Broads than by boat, and in the nearby town of Wroxham there are numerous boat hire companies who offer day boats along with organised tours. Spend a day seeing how far you can get, taking in the peaceful picturesque setting and perhaps even a little fishing for the keen anglers among us.
South of the property is Norwich, which is just over 10 miles away. Whether youre looking for shopping, restaurants or entertainment Norwich has continued to increase in popularity over recent years and has become an increasingly attractive destination. Norwich Cathedral and Norwich Castle should satisfy that cultural itch, whilst Norwich's 12th century market is an ideal spot for a bargain or two, or even just some international street food!
Within 30-minutes by car guests can reach the North Norfolk coast, including Cromer and Sheringham, two of the most famous seaside towns in the county.
Cromer is well known for its fabulous pier, and one of a kind end-of-pier show!
