Walk to Beach - 3 Bed/2 Bath Beach Bungalow

Less than a mile walk until your feet are in the sand! Relax after a day at the beach in this spacious and open home just minutes from the beach. After walking or biking back from the beach, relax in one of 2 living rooms - the second living space features a gas log fireplace with cute built-in window seating, another dining table, two futons for extra guests sleeping over, or simply for an awesome game and playroom. Or gather around the kitchen - between the dining table and island bar, you can comfortably seat 10-12 people.

The large master suite is a place for rest and replenishment - enjoy the walk-in tile shower! The second and third bedrooms are fabulous too and share the other beautiful bathroom in the home.

Outdoor living continues into the fenced-in backyard with a huge ground level deck perfect for relaxing in the hammock listening to waves crash, entertaining, sunbathing, or just letting the kids run around.

We are pet friendly and allow up to 2 pets of any size. Dogs must be crated when left alone and are not allowed on the furniture. A large crate is provided in the master bedroom.

Located on SE 29th St, the house is 2 blocks to the scenic walkway that leads to the beach or kayak launch. It's recently renovated, incredibly spacious, tons of outdoor living space, fully furnished, linens and towels provided, fenced in back yard, screened in front porch, lots of parking, plus no climbing tons of stairs!

The house was spacious and comfortable, convenient layout, with a well stocked kitchen and nice decor. We loved the walk-in shower! The fenced in area was great for our fur babies with deck, picnic table and night lights. It was also convenient that they provided a very large dog crate. The owners were gracious and super nice to work with. We would like to stay again sometime. The town of Oak Island is very dog friendly; dogs are allowed on the beach in off season. We enjoyed "The Point" with its large beach area. Pepperoni Grill has great italian food & Island Joe's has great coffee/lunch. Both are locally owned. We also visited the Christmas shop in Southport.

Very clean but needs some help

Inside was very clean; yard very unkempt. Owner was exceptional with communication. Instructions on how to access property were vague as well as how to access tv. Ended up a previous guest had taken a cord necessary; a window screen was missing. Seems several renters had taken advantage of owners and there had been little oversight by owner each time renters left.

Nice home - nice kitchen

Be prepared for a steep driveway.The large living room and extra living room were great. My concern was I could not figure out how to use any of the TVs in either room, or the bedrooms. The kitchen had a wonderful and clean new fridge, dishwasher, stove, and microwave. The old toaster oven was dirty with about 1/8 inch of grease in the drip pan. It is an older home. Each time I took a shower, black dirt came from somewhere ( maybe the pipes ?) I thought it was hair but it was not. But the AC was great ! The kitchen was great ! and the bedrooms and bathrooms were fine.

Our home away from home!

This was our second summer staying here, and we are hoping next year will make 3 in a row. The house was clean, well stocked and just as described. Protest was perfect size and location to the beach. Having a fence back yard was perfect with our two dogs. My only issue was the back yard area was a little unkept and would have been nicer if leaves and limbs had been raked. Having beach chair available for use for very helpful and appreciated.

Great space
two living rooms!

This place was comfortable and only about a .7 mile walk to the beach. Large back yard with fence and though we did not bring the dog, the huge crate in the primary bedroom, the poop scoop in the yard would have made it doable! Great communication with the owner Jared who gave us some recommendations too!

The house is very nice and spacious. I loved that we could all sit together and watch tv. I loved that the owner provided a kennel for my dog. This was very nice when we would leave the house. The owner was very responsive with any questions or concerns that we had. I had wished that it was closer to the beach but over all it’s a great house and a great location. Again the owner was excellent and took very good care of us. I would rent this property again.

The house is very nice, in a good location, relatively clean yet didn't shine, and we also had to kill 2 roaches. We were surprised to learn that after paying 2K for a week, the host stated that there were no napkins provided to guests. Also, only 1 roll of paper towers w were left for us, and only sheets and no blankets for the sofa couches which was obvious we would need to use. There were plenty of games, books and movie's to use which was great, yet the remotes for the bedroom and 2nd living room fans were inoperable.

Fun

Great location, very spacious and comfortable. We loved the area and the house and certainly will keep it in mind when traveling to that area in the future. We had one issue with the previous renters forgetting to take the trash to the curb before they left which made it challenging when we had to throw away items we couldnt travel with but it wasn't something that changed my view of the rental. Rent it and have a blast at the beach!

We’ve been spending time on OKI for 8 years now, and this was the best home we’ve rented. It’s so much bigger than you realize. It was clean and fully stocked. The owners were amazing with communication and providing recommendations of things to do. We loved it so much we booked it again!

Very nice, plenty of space!

My family loved our stay! The house was much larger than it appears on the outside. My granddaughters loved sleeping in second living room with the futons. We also had family game nights in there.And my 5 year old grandson loved having a “big” bed. The grandkids also loved the screened in front porch. The fenced in backyard was really nice too, we saw lots of squirrels and red birds. The fire pit was missing, but not really a problem, we probably wouldn’t have used it anyway. The house is in great location and nice neighborhood. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking breakfasts. There were even some spices and oils in the cabinet, that my son used for preparing the fresh shrimp and scallops we bought at Potter’s in Southport. The only thing was something sticky in bottom of refrigerator, but it appeared clean and no smell. Close to beach, waterway walk, and restaurants, and shopping. We would definitely stay there again!

Beautiful Island to visit

Great communication with owner. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. One of the best stocked homes we have stayed at. Plenty of kitchen items and towels. Driveway caught us off guard being steep on a hill for loading and unloading. We took our 85 year old Mother and it was a struggle. We were able to pull up one vehicle close to side door but still awkward for her. Neighborhood is quaint and quiet. J Babson

Amazing space!

We have been spending our vacation on Oak Island for over 15 years and experienced a lot of different properties/locations on the island. The best feature of this location was the large versatile living space. It was fabulous!! The comfortable futons easily converted to beds, the extra tables were great for games and meals, and the couches were huge and comfortable. The kitchen opened into the living space and was generally well equipped. We used it extensively and were pleased with all of the appliances. It could use a ladle, more silverware than just a set of 8 (we actually purchased a few pieces & left them), and a larger casserole/cake pan. One bigger pot would be a bonus as well. The laundry area included plenty of extra towels and a huge washing machine. The backyard is so cute and we enjoyed the fire pit. We stood our camera on the deck railing and took a family picture with the lights in the backdrop. It turned out so beautiful with 3 generations of family. We were very tentative about booking this property since we do not have indoor animals but it proved to be free of pet odor and very clean. The walk to the beach was approximately 10 minutes but the scenic walkway was unexpectantly beautiful. It was like discovering a hidden gem on the island! We would enjoy staying here again. It met and exceeded our expectations! Thank you so much for sharing your home with our family. It was such a blessing!
