Amazing View with balcony and free Parking
Stay in a charming Swiss chalet built in 1927 by my great-grandfather. Enjoy stunning views of Lake Thun, the mountains, and Oberhofen Castle. The apartment has 2 bedrooms, a full kitchen, a cozy living area, and a large balcony. Close to Thun, Interlaken, and ski and hiking areas, with shops, restaurants, swimming, and wellness nearby. Perfect for relaxation or adventure all year round!
You receive the Panorama Card which offers several discounts and free public transport in the area
Stay in an apartment in our familyâs traditional Swiss chalet. The chalet was built in 1927 by my great-grandfather and lovingly maintained through the generations. The apartment offers authentic charm with all modern comforts â perfect for couples, families, or small groups.
It features:
- 2 bedrooms with double beds (one can be made into two twins upon request)
- 1 fold-out bed for an additional guest
- A fully equipped kitchen for home-cooked meals
- A cozy living room with sofa corner, TV and a dining area
- A bathroom with both a bathtub and a shower
- A large balcony with panoramic views of Lake Thun, the Alps, Oberhofen village, and its castle
The neighborhood
Oberhofen is a charming lakeside village with everything you need within walking distance â a grocery store, local restaurants, and a beautiful lakeside swimming area for summer days. In winter, enjoy the indoor pool and wellness center nearby.
* Thun is only 10 minutes away with a great range of shops, cafés, and restaurants.
* Interlaken is a 20-minute scenic drive along the lakeshore.
* The mountains and ski resorts are easily accessible for hiking, skiing, and exploring.
*The bus stop is just a 3-minute walk from the apartment, connecting you easily to Thun and Interlaken.
Guests have private access to the apartment and the balcony.
Thereâs also free parking for up to two cars on the property.
I do not live on the property, however occasionally spend some time there in the other apartment downstairs. In case you would like to reach out for tips and suggestions for things to do in the area, I`ll be happy to help. If I am not staying at the chalet you may always reach out to me by text or phone. I am always happy to help. There is a lock box at the property that allows for flexible arrival and departure times.
Oberhofen is about 15 minutes drive away from Thun, about 25 minutes from Interlaken and 35 minutes from Bern (by car). It is as well easy reachable by public transport (18 min from Thun Mainstation and 40 min from Interlaken West).
The village has plenty to offer: an indoor swimming pool with sauna and gym, a open air swimming area at the lake, a pier with access to the lake boat cruises, a historic castle with a museum and a beautiful park. There are a few restaurants. Grocery shopping offers some variety with a small grocery store, a butcher, two bakeries and a cheese specialty shop.
There are a few lake side restaurants in the area that are really nice.
The area is perfect to explore the Bernese Oberland (mountain region). But due to the access to the highway in Thun a lot of Swiss areas of interest are within short reach. Lucerne can be reached in 1,5 hours by passing through Interlaken and the BrĂŒnig pass. There are plenty of options and things to do!
Ski Resorts in the Area: Niederhorn (12km/25 min), Grindelwald (37 km/49 min), Kandersteg (42 km/47 min), Hasliberg (50 km/56 min), Adelboden (46 km/53 min), Gstaad (65 km/1h18min). (all times are approximates when travelling by car).
There is a bus to Thun (bus 21 and 25) and one to Interlaken (21). Whoever would like to do the more relaxing way to travel around, can take the lake boat.
All guests will receive a Panorama card from the touristic region of Thun. This card allows for a lot of discounts and offers you free public transportation in the area.
You may either travel by car or by public transport. The chalet is very accessible with the bus stop just 3 minutes walking distance away.

There are two apartments in the chalet - you are renting the top floor apartment
* One bedroom can be arranged as two single beds on request â please let us know in advance.
The city tax of CHF 4.00 per person per night and the VAT is charged through Airbnb - no further charges to be paid at check in
Please note that we cannot store luggage. We usually have back to back reservations. At the train stations there are luggage storage facilities
When booking, please make sure to put the correct guest count. The price varies according to the amount of guests staying. We will prepare the apartment based on the amount of guests booked
This is a non smoking apartment (including deck) - no disposal of smoked cigarettes in the house (fire hazard!!)
Please take off the shoes when you are at home in the apartment.
Please be considerate with the energy use. Close the windows (especially when we are heating) and turn off the lights when you are not at home.
This apartment is not suited for parties.
Pets are not allowed.
No third party bookings accepted and no unregistered overnight guests
