Welcome to your Summer getaway, just steps from the beach! View the ocean from the large wraparound porch and make new memories with your family and friends. This is the downstairs apartment of a classic Maine cottage, built in 1900 as the second house back from the beach, with hardwood floors and ocean views. The unit has a bright, spacious living room and a well-equipped kitchen. There are four bedrooms (3 full, 1 with 2 twins), each with air conditioning. The bathroom has a shower. The backyard has a grill and an outdoor shower, for a quick rinse after visiting the beach. The ocean is just a few steps from your door, and the 7 miles of beach are beautiful throughout the year.
During the Summer, bookings are mainly Saturday to Saturday. You will need to bring your own sheets and towels. You can park one car in a designated parking space next to the house. It is possible for you to also rent the upstairs 3-bedroom unit. A great option if you plan to stay with friends or extended family.

Union Ave is a quiet road with beautiful beach houses and the surf school. The best sandwich place in town is down the street and many other shops and restaurants and a laundromat are around the corner. It is a 10-minute walk to the pier of Old Orchard Beach. The quaint village of Ocean Park, with its ice cream parlor, shuffleboards, and tennis courts, is also a short stroll. It is a 20-minute drive to Portland, with its many restaurants, art and culture, and the mall. You can walk to the Amtrak station in Old Orchard Beach where the Downeaster stops regularly from mid-May to September, and head to Portland, Freeport, or Boston. The train also stops year-round at the Amtrak station in Saco, which is a 10-minute drive from the house. In the off-season, you can enjoy the peace and quiet of Old Orchard Beach and its beautiful coastline. It is a 20-minute drive to the University of New England’s Biddeford Campus and 25 minutes to the University of Southern Maine.

3A Union Ave Beach House

What really makes this an ideal stay is the classic wrap around porch with lots of rocking chairs for times when you just want to chill. The kitchen is roomy which is a great bonus. The owner is very responsive to questions that came up. We enjoyed being close to the ocean and a parking spot in the driveway definitely puts this place at the top of the list for us. About as perfect as you can get!

Location location location!...but...

We rented this 4 bedroom but could only use 3 bedrooms since there was some sort of dead animal possibly in the wall and it stunk so bad!! Owners sent their maintenance guy (who also fixed the leaky toilet) and then the pest guy who both confirmed that there is something dead somewhere but couldn't find it. Pest guy put some sort of odor eating bag in the room. It may have helped but not enough to sleep there. I asked owners for compensation since i had to sleep on the couch all week. Haven't heard back from them. The only thing this place has going for it is location. Steps from the beach and very short walk to Ocean Park and the pier. Beautiful porch but the furniture hadn't been cleaned in who knows how long. Bedrooms are tiny tiny and some do not have ac. Besides the washer, dryer and dishwasher, the whole place needs updating. Kitchen and living room areas are good size but nothing is comfortable or updated.

extremely busy street
smoke detectors went off for no reason at all and had to get disconnected which is NOT safe especially with a baby. Things could have been MUCH cleaner. Garbage was never picked up and several dates were relayed to us. Still NEVER picked up. Train goes by many many times day and night. AC was good and front porch with rockers were terrific. Washer/dryer were excellent. Would never recommend OOB to mature families who like it quieter.

Great location but...

You can't beat the location for an off-season rental - just a few yards from the sand. It is on a main beach access so it may be a little crazy in thed summer. The house itself was a disappointment with many things not in working order and very small bedrooms with uncomfortable beds too big for the rooms making it challenging to move and store belongings. Bring your own blankets and additional dishes and glassware because the "well stocked kitchen" is not. With some attention to details this could be a great property but it was not ready for prime time.

Perfect for a Relaxing Beach Week

We live in Maine but wanted a week on the ocean. This house is located within walking distance of the Pier and rides & arcades in Old Orchard but also within walking distance of the quieter town of Ocean Park. There is a convenience store and take out restaurant a block away. The kids were able to enjoy the beach and the arcades and rides without wearing out us parents. The wireless is great. The spacious porch with a view of the ocean waves breaking was my favorite part of the house.
