The check in was made very easy through the property management team at Beach Ball vacations. They were very good with communications. They were also helpful with texting other recommendations ahead of time as well.The property and unit are obviously not one of the newest properties, but well maintained. The location is awesome, easy in and out. The unit kitchen was stocked very well with everything we needed. The furniture was comfortable and they made good use of the available space. The bed was average, but not uncomfortable.The views from the balcony are what we travel for. We have visited Orange Beach several times for vacation. We have stayed at this property previously in a different unit and have enjoyed our stays. The only real downside on this particular trip was the balcony furniture. It was in disrepair and needs to be replaced. We were able to enjoy our balcony time and had the best dinner seats around. There is no lack of great shrimp boil, pizza or anything else that cannot be served on the balcony with such great views.

Not what we were expecting

Overall the unit was dirty. There was a film on the floor, our feet stayed dirty. There was a musty smell as soon as we walked in and the A/C unit wasn’t working properly. Under the a/c vent in the bedroom there was a spot that stayed wet, we had to lay a towel down so we wouldn’t slip. There was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom and the tub drain was clogged, every time we took a shower we were standing in water and it took a while to completely drain. The ottoman in the living room was pleather and was peeling very bad, my children would sit on it and have brown pieces stuck all over them. I finally moved it to the corner because I had to sweep anytime someone touched it. The refrigerator was clean on the inside but was rusted on the outside. Things were patched like the mirror in the kitchen, the dryer had a broken lent screen. Also, the girl giving us our parking passes was very rude, kinda set a bad tone when we first arrived. The beach was beautiful and our view was nice; however, balcony chairs were ripped and one was almost ripped completely through on the seat area. The amenities of the resort were nice, my children loved the splash pad and pool. We honestly just tried to stay out of our room.

Disappointing

Disappointed would be an understatement. The floors were disgusting, the tub was nasty and did not drain, the linens smelled like BO and there was mold growing on the bedroom ceiling. The cookware was a joke and needed to be replaced. The skillets had black flakes coming off in our food. We reached out to beachball and they replied with “thanks for bringing it to our attention.” But did nothing. We have stayed at many condos and beach houses. This condo was by far the worst. We will never stay here again. View was nice

Great location, beautiful space

The condo is exactly as pictured. The Beachball management easy to get a hold of if necessary. Lovely location and great beach access. The condo was very nice. And fully deserving of 5 stars - the actual building was the only reason I gave 4 - The condominium did have construction going on in the lobby but they did a great job of providing ease of access. The fitness room is average and outdated. Both pools are nice size. The only downfall the indoor pool has very little seating - and the outdoor pool had very little shaded seating. Maybe they do provide umbrellas in summer? Overall a nice location and would stay again

Outdated & mold

Overall decent condo, great location and layout. However, appliances are very outdated. Stove is difficult to work. Refrigerator was either too hot or too cold. Basic things that are needed for a stay weren’t available (such as oven mitts). We could work around all of these minor things. However, there is mold coming out of the air vent in the bedroom which made us very sick.

Perfect Couple Getaway

My husband and I had such a relaxing stay. The rooms were spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The building was quiet and we did not hear noise from other rooms or floors. Balcony views were amazing and the ease in and out of the property was so simple. Pool was long and had a separate area for kids which was nice for our adult only time. No complaints, only compliments on the entire experience.

Bedsheets all had sand in them Oven is so old and does not work properly. Could not bake any of our food that we brought. Elevators are a nightmare. Took almost 30 minutes to get from 8th floor to the lobby on check out day due to high traffic and maintenance/cleaning services utilizing public elevators. Would not recommend for families

June Vacay

It was a very nice 1 bedroom place for us as adults to stay. The complex was not very adult however. We understood we took a chance by going in June that there would be lots of children. We didn't anticipate there would be so many unruly, screaming, disrespectful children in such a nice complex. We will definitely consider the property again. Just for stays before June and after Labor day. The unit was perfect for us.

Great for a short stay!

Have your room number ready for the check in desk because they will not check you in until you have it, and they will not look it up for you. A few updates are needed and a new shower liner is needed. This was a perfect view and location for us. Great for a 3 day weekend stay. Kids loved it, and my husband and I enjoyed it as well.

It wasn’t terrible but I didn’t walk away thinking wow I can’t wait to book again!

My husband and I went for a weekend getaway! The unit wasn’t terrible but it also was not very homey. First, there was an issue with the code provided to get in unit. I had to call the property manager to get a different code. Why wasn’t I just provided the correct code to begin with? The unit smelt very musty. All the appliances could also use an update. The fridge had rust markings on both sides of it and the stove was old the numbers on the turn dail were faded off and you really didn’t know what temperature you were cooking at. Lastly, the furniture was was not comfy and homey. The couch was like fake plastic and you slide right off of it if that makes sense.

Great time at Phoenix v

Phoenix v is perfect for families with kids! The condo was perfect for our family of 4. The condo was clean however the kitchen appliances are outdated. (The oven temperature dial no longer has clear readings) however not a deal breaker. We already are looking at coming back next year for an even longer stay. Can’t wait to enjoy the view again. There was a cockroach in the bathroom. Then underneath the trundle bed and recliners it hadn’t been cleaned in awhile. Overall it wasn’t Terrible. But with somethings being half Cleaned it makes you wonder about the rest. The shower fixture was awful To turn on and off and the tub barley drained. That being said I wouldn’t stay in this one again for the price.

Home away from home

We had a wonderful time staying here for the week. The ability to walk to the beach multiple times a day and have access to a pool and splash pad met the expectations of all my kids ranging from 3 to 15. The condo was spacious and clean, we enjoyed having the use of a full kitchen.

Great stay, condo is a little outdated


Only negative thing was the condo was a little outdated. Our A/C broke our third night there overnight. I called early next morning and they showed up within an hour and we didn’t have to stay while they worked on it. By the time we got back, the A/C was fixed. Also, please add a Matt or small rug to clean our feet when coming inside from balcony as it is very sandy. Also, long waits for elevators. Overall great stay.

I booked this unit based on the pictures. The condo was as advertised...nice and the balcony and view were beautiful. Just what my friend and I were looking for but VRBO did not tell the entire story. For anyone looking to book in Orange Beach,, you would do well not to rent anywhere in Phoenix V if you are a boomer for example and want a calm visit. This unit has a splash pad for children right below the balcony and is loud all the time. The property is also popular with young people who must enjoy Flora Bama as we heard "merriment" for 3 straight nights into the early morning hours. Also, I have been visiting OB and GS for years and NEVER paid to park until I stayed in this building. And not 10 or 15 a day....$50!!! If that was on the advertisement, I did not see it but I have learned to do lots of investigating before my next trip to the beach. In closing, the condo and balcony was nice but the synopsis did not tell the whole story and I feel in fairness that people might like the whole story before spending big money like I did.
