Travelling from Australia we were looking forward to our stay in Padua (Padova). Michele our host made early contact with us and provided clear instructions on how to find the apartment. As we were travelling by train to Padua it was very helpful to know the bus/tram options with our luggage. The studio style apartment is very comfortable and had all the utilities needed for our four day stay. Michele was very quick to respond with some helpful local information, which we appreciated. The apartment is in a building adjacent to the old historic centre of the city and is easy walking distance to cafés, restaurants and grocery markets. We particularly liked the café down stairs as the staff were very welcoming and served enjoyable local food. It’s a good idea to check times and days when certain places are closed, due to cultural or religious observance. Padua is in an ideal situation for day trips to Venice, Verona, Vicenza and Bassano. You can buy an economical three day Trenitalia Regionale ticket to visit those neighbouring towns. To do the day trips the apartment it is an easy walk through the heritage precinct to the railway station. A good way to explore the district on the way. On departure it was a short walk to the tram or bus as the stops are very close by.
