Alaskan Cabin in the Beautiful Knik River Valley with Panoramic Mountain Views, Palmer
Tucked away in the Knik River Valley, the Glacier Breeze cabin is surrounded by amazing 360° views of the breathtaking Chugach Range. Unwind while being close to many great Alaskan experiences, all while feeling like you truly are in the last frontier, not just in yet another town. Moose right outside your window, Northern Lights dancing above, a fire crackling in the stove and panoramic mountain views, the Glacier Breeze will let you experience what makes Alaska an unforgettable experience!
The Glacier Breeze cabin is a 280 sq ft open floor plan tiny cabin that is delightfully set up for a comfortable stay for up to two guests. Perfect for a romantic getaway, a home base for a
range of Alaskan adventures , a quiet escape from the hustle of town or make it all of the above! Ted Stevens airport is only a one hour beautiful drive away, making the cabin a great destination to start or end your trip to get a great nights sleep while getting that first, or final, taste of tranquil Alaskan surroundings. Traveling solo? Our solo guests have said that they were able to let go of any anxiety and feel safe and comfortable while relaxing at the cabin. It has also become a local favorite as a place for a mom-cation for a night or two of solitude and peace!
With a wide assortment of year round activities in the area, the cabin is an excellent choice for a place to recharge after having the adrenaline pumping all day. The experience at the Glacier Breeze is so unique, that itâs even become a popular place for locals to come get away and enjoy the Alaskan beauty at some of it's best they don't get to experience living in town!
Looking to check off seeing the Northern Lights off your bucket list? The predictions are that 2024 is going to be an active year in the solar cycle, which means the chances of seeing not only the aurora, but a spectacular showing of them is greater between now and the beginning of April and once again starting in September.
Without having to worry about being surprised by cleaning fees and checkout chores, you can already start to relax! We have no cleaning fee and the only thing we ask at check out is to make sure you have your stuff and to put the heat on low if itâs freezing out. Itâs you thatâs here on vacation, not us!
What makes the Glacier Breeze cabin a special place for your unforgettable stay? It may be a tiny cabin, but itâs loaded with comforts and hand crafted details!
The open floor plan living area has a comfortable love seat with entertainment provided via a TV loaded with several streaming services. If you would prefer some auditory entertainment, an Alexa speaker is waiting for your request for the soothing tunes of your choice to further enhance the already relaxing atmosphere. Should you prefer to just unplug from the outside world, you can choose from assorted board games or Alaskan themed books to chill out with.
The wood stove will keep you toasty through the chilly Alaskan nights, should you not be familiar with operating one, we will be glad to explain how to use it. Firewood is supplied between September and April and is typically available for purchase May - August.
The full size hand built Murphy bed has a memory foam mattress that is layered in soft, hypoallergenic and sustainably sourced bamboo sheets topped by a warm down alternative comforter. Add in the crackling sound of the wood slowly burning in the stove and you should be in for a great nights sleep!
Blackout blinds on the windows help out for the summer Alaskan nights featuring the midnight sun.
The amply equipped kitchen includes a stove, full size refrigerator, toaster, blender, crock pot, pans and the utensils you need to prepare your favorite meals. Craving a coffee or other hot beverage fix? We have you covered with the choice of a drip pot, Kureg or French press with an assortment of coffee and tea, featuring locally sourced samples. If you need something thatâs not on hand, let us know and we may have it on hand to bring out to the cabin for you to use. Not up to cooking? We would be glad to recommend a local restaurant depending on what you may be in the mood for. The Palmer area has some great locally owned restaurants, many that serve locally sourced foods. It might surprise you what is produced here in the Mat-su Valley!
The private bathroom features a tub/shower combo with body wash, shampoo and conditioner provided.
Fast 50mb Wifi is provided for your entertainment and work needs.
Bear spray and bug spray are also supplied to help keep some of the more aggressive residents at bay while out exploring the area. Please do let us know if you use the bear spray so we can replace it with a new one for the next guests, and we arenât going to lie, we would want to hear the story! No charge for use on bear, but there is a $40 charge each for not returning.
As if all that was not all the reason you needed to stay at Glacier Breeze, the cabin is surrounded by great Alaskan arctic adventures such as helicopter tours, trips to the Knik glacier via an assortment of means of transportation, year round ice climbing, rock climbing, kayaking on the Knik River, ATV tours, guided fishing, hiking, horse back riding and more!
