Everything about this property was exceeded our expectations from start to finish! The hosts, Ruben and Mariza, made us feel like family. The property itself is beautiful - so well-cared for and the perfect amount of space for the 6 of us. Be sure to ask Ruben and Mariza to cook for you one night because their Belizean Chicken dinner and chocolate cake are literally to die for. We will be back!

This is our second time visiting La Rotunda. Placencia is a beautiful place and the people are some of the nicest most accommodating we have met in our travels. The house is a perfect location and great for families or groups. It is right on the beach and a short golf cart ride into town.Ruben and Marisa who manage the property are the best - great chefs and the nicest family. They make you feel right at home. Highly encourage the key lime pie and the crepe cake.We are already planning a trip back.

Everything was just as pictured or even better! There were 3 couples that thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Rotunda. Ruben and Mariza were so pleasant and helpful. Their recommendations were top notch of which one was a "hook and cook" island adventure. They are also excellent cooks! We only wish we had asked them to cook for us sooner in the trip so we could've enjoyed more of them! The homemade Belizean chocolate cake finished off our meal and vacation splendidly. Highly recommend this property...Thank you so much for sharing your amazing piece of paradise!

We stayed here for 8 wonderful days, and from the moment we arrived, it was truly a pleasure. The house is not only beautiful but also extremely functional, everything you could possibly need is there, and most importantly, everything works perfectly, which makes such a difference when you’re on holiday.What truly made this stay special, though, were Ruben and Marisa. They took such genuine, thoughtful care of us that we felt more like welcomed friends than guests. From arranging our excursions to offering excellent local advice, they were always available, helpful, and kind. Their recommendations made our trip smoother and more memorable.One evening, we asked if they could cook for us, and it turned out to be a highlight of our stay. The meal was delicious. We felt comfortable, cared for, and completely at home throughout our stay. Everything about this place is a dream come true. Spend time with my family for a birthday trip. Ruben and Maritza were so wonderful. The trips Ruben and Maritza had set up where a five star. Enough room for my preteens to have their own space. I cannot mention the food enough. You can feel, see and taste the love they put into caretaking that property and its guests. Fabulous Property and Outstanding Hosts!

This amazing house worked well for our group of seven, all adults. Everyone had their own bedrooms and baths and enjoyed the common areas, giving everyone an opportunity to go read or join in on the games. We used the paddleboard and kayaks in the ocean and spent many hours in and by the pool- plenty of sun or shade with comfortable outdoor seating. We had rented a golf cart so it was an easy 10 minute trip to Placencia to enjoy the charming town and several good restaurants. The hosts, Ruben and Maritza were very gracious and available to help with anything
.make sure you have them cook for you, the food was yummy! We really fell in love with their dogs, Rex and Coco. Our only disappointment was that we couldn’t take little Coco home with us! No need to hesitate to book this house - it’s perfect!

Family Vacation

The home was beautiful and was perfect for our family. You truly don't need to leave the house. The view was amazing! We had 6 adults, a toddler and an infant. Ruben and Mariza live on the property but you never know they are there, they are there to help whenever needed but respect your privacy. Ruben cleaned up the back, pool and deck every morning and Mariza cleaned the house. They are so friendly and helpful. Ruben will take care of anything you need, excursions, airport transfers etc. Speaking of the airport, it is 5 minutes from the house. It was so nice to arrive and not have a far drive. Ruben had our golf cart ready for us at the airport and he took all of our luggage to the house. The house is a great location and easy access to town with all of the restaurants, shops etc. We took the excursion to Monkey River and really enjoyed it. Alex was our guide and he did a great job pointing out all of the wildlife. Our favorite restaurants were Rumfish, Big Becks, Bohemian and Cozy Corner for breakfast. We also loved the Turtle Inn (pretty and very relaxing) and the Breezeway Restaurant. This is a great house! The owner is also very responsive! 10 out of 10!

Gorgeous relaxing stay in Belize

We had such a great time at this rental. 8 people with 4 children and everyone had plenty of space. House had everything we needed and Ruben was always available to give recommendations and help us make reservations. Food in the area was great, plenty of things to do, but truthfully lounging around the pool was the best part.

Blissful Belize

My husband and I plus various family members spent five weeks at this wonderful property. The house and grounds are well-represented by the online photos. We particularly loved the patio and pool with the beach and ocean just beyond. The location, just outside Placencia but not in the village itself, was also to our liking. The house owner reached out to us before our stay and gave us a lot of useful info. Upon arrival, the caretakers, Ruben and Mariza, were so helpful. They cooked us dinner a couple of times -- spectacular! And provided a lot of information about the area, and helped recommend excursions and dining options. The house is well-equipped for cooking on your own, but near to many of the area's great restaurants. We highly recommend La Rotonda if you're looking for a peaceful stay on the beach in beautiful, laid-back Placencia!!!

Rueben and Mariza are amazing. We had transportation issues from the beginning and they made sure to keep in contact with us the entire time and even got us pizza so we'd have something to eat due to our late arrival. They were always available when needed and so friendly and helpful. By far the best property hosts I've ever had. They really are a treasure. And the reviews about the chocolate cake are 100% legit...the best chocolate cake I've ever had.

Amazing House in Perfect Location

We just spent Thanksgiving week at this amazing house and it did not disappoint. House was simply phenomenal. 4 large bedrooms and 4 large bathrooms, a great sunroom, and literally a large sanded backyard. Pool was big, kayaks and SUP right there, and there is a private beach. The property caretakers were the best. Every morning the beach was raked and we came home to a spotless house every night after activities. Ruben’s key lime pie was the best thing I’ve ever had - highly recommend eating in at least a bit because his food was our favorite. You’re just outside the village so we did take our golf cart into town to eat and explore. We hope to come back - don’t hesitate to book asap. It is pretty special.

This house was perfect for our family of 6. So comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The pool and beach are stunning. Great location. A slice of heaven!

This house was a perfect retreat for our family vacation. The large beach front property is beautifully maintained and equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our time. Ample outdoor seating and pool floaties are available to enjoy the cool, saltwater pool. The view to the beach and ocean is unobstructed and beautiful. Inside, we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Comfortable beds, plenty of towels for the pool and beach. Air conditioning. Grill. Washer/dryer. The house managers live on site and are kind, attentive and helpful. We definitely hope to return to this property.

Amazing vacation

Our group was celebrating milestone birthdays for 3 of us and we could not have picked a better place to stay. Reuben and Mariza were amazing. They were always available when needed but never obvious. They provided advice for where to purchase groceries/fruit and recommendations for activities. The home was comfortable and had everything we needed. The food they made was amazing! Fish was off the boat that day and the deserts were to die for! Others have spoken about Rex, the gentle gian, but Coco was also such a sweetie. The iguanas were a treat to watch from the pool. The location of the home was perfect
close to the village but still away from the bustle. Also easy to head north to 1981 where we had an amazing dinner. Overall this is an amazing home with awesome caretakers. We would definitely return.

Beautiful Property, Excellent Service

Ruben and Marissa are wonderful. They made us excellent dinners, cleaned our rooms and provided fresh towels on a regular basis and answered all of our questions! The home is well laid out for four couples with plenty of room to gather and enjoy the beautiful beach and pool area. The kitchen is well stocked. We had a little trouble reaching them when we are on our way from the airport due to bad cell reception. I don't know if it would help to know the mile marker ahead of time so that you could be on the lookout for the property. We highly recommend The Rotonda if you are planning a trip to Placencia.

Beautiful Home Amazing Managers

Absolutely beautiful home and great location! Absolutely amazing property managers and very kind family. Loved the dogs. Very helpful and Reuben's cooking was delicious ! Some of the best food we had while in Belize!

Amazing, Personal Resort

We have stayed at quite a few different VRBO's in many locations across the US and the Caribbean and this was, by far, our favorite place we've ever stayed. The pool was the perfect size for everyone to enjoy and there is a great sand area plus your own beach. It really feels like your own private resort. The snorkeling was great (stingrays, jellyfish, starfish, barracuda, and even a manatee) and the use of kayaks and paddleboards was an added bonus. The caretakers, Ruben and Mariza were so gracious, friendly, and helpful. The meals Ruben prepared were amazing. Make sure you get the chocolate cake!! The proximity to the village and shopping makes this a fantastic location as well. We can't recommend this highly enough.

Birthday and snorkeling trip

I booked this trip to help celebrate a big bday for one of my girlfriends who also loves snorkeling. Four of us (all over 65) ended up coming and none of us knew too much about Belize and boy did we hit a winner (sorry, we are all tennis players) I can’t say enough about how terrific the owner was prior to arrival, answering so many questions and giving great advice. The home and its setting is paradise. It was just perfect for us. We took advantage of the Kayaks, bikes, snorkeling off the beach and swimming in the pool. The caretakers Ruben and Marisa are just next door on site and were so helpful and great chefs who will prepare a meal when you want to eat at home. The Rotunda is close to town by bikes or golf cart. We did two snorkeling excursions and two others one by boat to the Monkey River and one to the Mayan ruins that included cave tubing. None of our trips were booked before we arrived and Ruben was very helpful In booking them. We had him prepare a seafood dinner upon arrival after a long travel day and again on our last night. Please don’t miss out on his culinary skills (key lime pie and chocolate cake) All of the local people are so friendly and we had nothing but good food, drink (lots of rum punches) and experiences in the village. Quite a memorable trip and checked a few items off the “bucket list”. You will love this home and Belize.

Placencia with 4 couples

The house is stunning and sparkling clean. Air conditioning works well and beds are super comfortable. On site property managers took such good care of us - booking massages, making delicious dinner and cake, raking the sand daily, bringing fresh towels, getting us bicycles...WOW! We had 4 couples here and had our meals in the screened in patio and it was perfect. I would definitely recommend this property. As a tip to future travelers - we were glad we had a rental car to get around.

Can’t beat the beach and pool here

This place was perfect for our two families of four. Two of the bedrooms are completely separate (you have to go outside to enter), which was nice for a little bit of separation. Kitchen has full size appliances and a dishwasher! The screened in porch is great for evening bugs. Ruben takes amazing care of the grounds. He was outside raking the sand every morning (I think he sprays for bugs too, which was great. We definitely got way more bug bites when we went out to dinner at night than when we stayed home). We had Ruben and Mariza cook for us two nights and it was sooo delicious. Agree with everyone else, much better than the food we got out. Everyone raves about the key lime pie which was delicious, but the chocolate cake was amazing! Definitely get the 2 for 1 pizzas at Turtle Inn on Sunday night. They are great. The water and beach right at the house were perfect for our 5-8 yo kids. They loved the kayaks and SUP. On calm days, you can go quite far up and down the shoreline. It’s very close to the airport but no early or late flights. It really didn’t disturb our experience. We rented a car and drove from BZE. Easy drive and given the location, was really necessary. You are far enough from Placencia town and/or Maya Beach that you will want transportation. Amazing place, would definitely recommend!

An amazing stay

We had an amazing stay at La Rotonda. The property was clean and very well cared for. The grounds are lush and beautiful, home to geckos, iguanas and so many birds. There was more than enough room for all 3 generations to spead out and enjoy. Ruben and Mariza were absolutly wonderful to have on the property. The beach is raked and pool deck swept daily and we had turndown service in the bedrooms and kitchen every other day. We enjoyed 3 meals in, cooked by Ruben and Mariza and they were some of the best meals we had. Communication with the owner was easy and quick. We honestly cant say enough good things about this place and look forward to our trip again next year. Do not hesitate to book this property, you will not regret it!!! Thank you Ruben, Mariza and Hee De! We feel so blessed by our time at Rotonda.
