The setting is as relaxing as it can get, set within the sleepy Croatian village of Hiža Bratovici where you can soak up the laid-back way of life. If you can be tempted to leave this secluded oasis, around the corner is the ancient Roman city of Pula, a fantastic day trip with its historic amphitheatre and a variety of vibrant restaurants and bars. Closer to home is Baderna, a small, agricultural village where you will find a choice of shops and family-run restaurants.
The exteriors reflect the beautiful architecture of the village, picturesque with light-coloured Istrian stone design and whitewashed walls. Finished with pastel blue wooden shutters, grand pillars and terracotta red roof tiles, Villa Sweet Retreat is the epitome of a rustic Croatian farmhouse and breathes traditional charm. The interiors are bursting with authentic character, with fresh white walls complimented by stone facades and wooden details. The décor offers a contemporary flavour, with modern lighting fixtures, trendy furnishings and vibrant wall art. The open ground floor is spacious and inviting, with a cosy living room, a wooden dining table and a modern kitchen with high-end appliances. There’s even a games room, featuring a large pool table and darts for some family-friendly competition. Across the villa are three bedrooms with high ceilings and charming wooden beams that allude to spaciousness and light. On the ground floor are two double bedrooms, with a large double bedroom and sofa bed upstairs in the loft.
You’ll find it hard to tear yourself away from the sumptuous sun-kissed terrace, made private and secluded thanks to the whitewashed fence walls. The sparkling infinity pool is the star attraction, inviting you to take a refreshing dip and soak up the gorgeous Croatian sunshine. It's lined with plush sun loungers, so hop out and dry off in the heat as you sunbathe your way through the hazy afternoons. For some me-time, the upper balcony is perfect for some peace and quiet while gazing out over the sublime countryside scenery. With an alfresco dining table, an outdoor bar, and a barbecue, dinner is best served outside in the warm, crisp air. There’s even a swing and a playhouse, perfect for keeping the kids busy for a few hours.
