At first, the fortifications were to protect against the English invasion, now it is to keep tourists inside ;) This area is super beautiful, you will love it. On the other hand, it is mainly populated by tourists and visitors from other regions of the province and the country. This is where you can get a t-shirt with the logo “I LOVE QUÉBEC”.
The Faubourg St-Jean-Baptiste which is right next to the fortifications. This is my neighborhood and will be yours during your stay. Even if you don't choose my accommodation, I highly recommend this neighborhood. Here you will live with the locals. St-Jean street will take you directly to Old Quebec, surrounded by its fortifications, a short 10 minutes walk. You will find everything you need without even using your car. You can get around on foot since you will have all the attractions and amenities nearby.
