Kowhai cottage and studio is a cute and cosy 1930âs character cottage located a short walk down to the Raglan Wharf. Packed with cottage charm, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms plus several decks and outdoor seating options to enjoy the distant harbour view. The cottage has been beautifully decorated and styled making Kowhai Cottage the perfect base for your Raglan getaway.
Kowhai Cottage and studio is a cute character cottage dating back to the 1930âs. With all the modern conveniences you would expect in a house today but packed with charm. This beautiful cottage boasts 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with 1 double bedroom located in the main cottage. The second bedroom with 2 single beds is located under the main cottage and accessed via an external staircase off the main deck. Also located outside is the studio with a queen bedroom and en-suite bathroom also accessed via the external staircase. This arrangement allows the cottage to accommodate up to 6 guests.
The whole cottage oozes charm with its wooden floors and beams, wooden windows and original wooden weatherboard exterior painted in a charming yellow - lending the property its name - Kowhai.
In the main cottage - along with the double bedroom - you will find the open plan kitchen, dining room, living room and main bathroom with shower.
The kitchen is a cottage style, in keeping with the character of the property, with a wooden breakfast bar, electric oven and hob, toaster, kettle, microwave, filter coffee maker and fridge/freezer plus all the essentials to make cooking a breeze.
The dining area is furnished with a large wooden table with seating for 6 guests. The living area is beautifully decorated with modern sofa and furnishings, and large windows allowing the space to be flooded with natural light.
There are french double doors just off from the kitchen opening out to an elevated wooden deck where you will find a BBQ and outdoor dining table for 6 guests. The perfect place to enjoy a meal and cool drink after a day exploring Raglan.
The stairs from the deck will lead you down to the second bedroom located under the main cottage. This bedroom is set with 2 single beds and gorgeous linens and packed with charm.
There is also a washing machine and laundry tub hidden behind the cupboard doors in the single bedroom for use during your stay.
You will also find the studio room with a Queen bed and bathroom with shower, vanity and toilet, and two large doors opening the studio to the garden. Please note that there is no actual door to the bathroom (a pull across curtain only) so if privacy is an issue it might not be suitable for two friends to share this room.
Outside the studio is a private wooden deck and table, tucked away with views onto the garden. An additional outdoor dining set-up is located outside the studio - a perfect spot for a morning coffee.
Kowhai Cottage is located a short 5 minute walk down to the Raglan Wharf where you can find Raglan Fish for local fish and chips and The Wharf Kitchen and Bar for lunches or evening meals. Also on the Wharf are some local artisan shops: Tony Sly Pottery and Soul Shoes plus you can hop on the Wahine Moe Harbour cruise and enjoy the view from the water.

Also on offer in Raglan is fantastic bushwalking, golf, mini putt and, of course, plenty of fishing.
The vibrant cafĂ© and arts scene in Raglan township is just a short drive away. Thereâs a wealth of delicious dining options to choose from, along with specialist arts and crafts shops to explore. Also within easy reach are the supermarket and shopping facilities.
Do as much or as little as you want â the choice is yours. Raglan is a fantastic holiday destination any time of year.

There is parking for 1 car only in the driveway, so we do recommend driving together if possible. An additional car can park on the street, but it is a narrow road with not many parking options.
No more than the number of guests booked, to a maximum of 6. Additional charges will apply if you exceed the number booked.
Guest stays longer than 5 nights will be provided with additional bathroom linen for use during your stay.
For reservations longer than 10 days, on request, additional bed linen can be provided for you to change at your convenience. Our team will collect any dirty linen at a mutually agreed time.
All reservations include an end of stay cleaning fee. Sufficient cleaning products and equipment will be available at the property for use during your stay should you need it. We do not offer mid-stay cleaning services unless this has been pre-arranged at the time of booking and we have capacity in our cleaning schedule to book this in. All additional cleaning services including mid-stay bed making will incur additional costs.
Kowhai Cottage is located in a residential area - please no excessive noise. A noise curfew is in place between 10pm and 9am.
A BBQ is available for use during your stay. Please clean with the appropriate supplied cleaner after use. We reserve the right to charge for additional cleaning if the BBQ is found dirty.
Rubbish - an allowance has been made for 1x full blue rubbish bag. Additional rubbish must be taken with you or dropped at a local refuse disposal station (details in house info folder) or an additional charge of $25 per bag will be applied for disposal.
Recycling - an allowance for 1x full recycling bin has been made per stay. Additional recycling must be taken with you or an additional charge of $25 per box will be applied for disposal.
Electric Vehicle Charging- We are unable to accommodate electrical vehicle charging at the property, there is a fast charging station location around the town hall on Bow Street.
