The Space:

The Old Datsun is a real one-off: two stylish, executive townhouses sitting side by side in the quiet lakeside suburb of Koutu, lovingly restored by the owner and named for the old Datsun that sat in the driveway here for more than twenty years. Each townhouse is fully self-contained, with two spacious king bedrooms, its own private entrance and driveway, a stylish kitchen, a bathroom, laundry facilities and a single garage. The two homes are joined by a shared deck with a lockable gate, so you can open it all up when you're one big group, or keep things separate and private when you'd rather. There's no internal access between the units - you move between them across the connecting deck. With four king bedrooms in total and lovely views over Lake Rotorua, it's a smart, flexible base for two families or a group who want to be together but still have their own space.

Guest Access:

You'll have exclusive access to both townhouses - all four king bedrooms, both bathrooms, both kitchens and living areas, and the shared deck that connects them. The connecting deck has a lockable gate, so you can open the two homes up as one or keep them separate as you prefer. Each townhouse has its own entrance, driveway and garage.



The Neighborhood:

The Old Datsun sits in Koutu, a quiet, mostly-residential lakeside pocket just northwest of central Rotorua, right by Lake Rotorua. It's a peaceful spot with lake views, yet only about 6 minutes from the CBD with its restaurants, cafés and shops, and close to Rotorua's geothermal parks, cultural experiences and outdoor activities. An easy, central base for exploring the region.



Getting Around:

A car is handy here, with free parking on-site including a garage for each townhouse. By car, central Rotorua and Skyline are about 6 minutes away, the Polynesian Spa and lakefront around 7, Te Puia about 10, and Rotorua Airport roughly 17.



Other Things to Note:

A couple of things worth knowing: The Old Datsun is two separate townhouses joined by a shared deck rather than one open-plan home, so you move between the two sides across the deck - there's no internal access between them. Each side is fully self-contained, and the connecting deck has a lockable gate for privacy when you want it. It's a great setup for two families or groups who like a bit of their own space.
