Verbesserungswürdig: Sauberkeit und Zustand der Unterkunft
The El San Juan Hotel was once a premiere property. Known as the "Jewel" of the Caribbean. They took pride in all areas of the hotel. But now it is quite disappointing. The disregard for their appearance, and the level disrepair and neglect was appalling. The elevator doors were in need of refresh. The room we were given was awful. First it had an overwhelming moldy smell, the carpets were dirty, the curtians had mold and dirt, and the bathroom door had chipping paint, and layers of dust, the vent also had chipping paint. And the toilet wasn't flushing properly. Lastly the uniforms provided to the employees were atrocious and unkept.
In my opinion it is overpriced. You get charged an additional $60 daily room resort fee and in addition as a guest are required to pay $30 daily parking fee on top of what we had already paid.
It is supposed to be a high end resort but what we found was more like a motel six.
The only exception was the staff, they were
amazingly friendly and genuinely cared for the service they provided.
As a former resident of Puerto Rico and quite familiar with the old standards of El San Juan Hotel I genuinely mortified that this is how we are represented.
