Beware .. this property is not as advertised
Firstly, I am a fair person of integrity honour. I don't exaggerate and I am not extreme nor dishonest. I expect nothing more than I pay for and I never try to scam people or go back on my word.
When we arrived at the property, we were not impressed by the condition of the lard and it's state of neglect. The front stairs to were slanted over to one side and we feared they were not safe. However, they were sturdy.
The kitchen had not been properly cleaned and my wife hade to wipe out the inside of the dirty fridge. The oven have the remains of what looked like melted chees on the inside of the door. The counters and stove top were visibly dirty and had to be wiped down by my wife.
The walls were dirty and badly scuffed in several places. Paint was chipped and large flakes of pain were seen hanging from the ceiling in the living room.
The blinds were broken, pieces broken off, so that persons on the outside could see right into the rooms.
There was one couch was terribly stained and nobody would have wanted to sit on it.
There was no hangar bar in the closet in the larger room ... I didn't look at the other closets.
One of the toilet covers had dried urine on it. I didn't inspect the other.
My wife and her sister became so distressed that they were fearful of getting into the beds. So it was at this point that we made the decision not to stay and to find alternate accomodation in a hotel.
I wrote the host and explained our disappointment and that we not going to stay. She offered to come over and clean and to arrange for repairs but that would not have been until the next day I assume as it was already close to 9:00pm I think.
The host explained that the house was over 100 years old so it was reasonable that some things would need repairs. She also stated that she cleaned the place personally so she disagreed that the home was dirty.
We took several pictures to show exactly what we had experienced. The pictures verify my statements to be accurate.
I asked the host for a refund but she explained that is not how it works and that I would need to deal with VRBO on the matter. So I did the following day.
So, if you are considering renting this property, beware. It is not as the pictures show and I am certain you will be disappointed. I feel cheated and lied to. Nadia Walker is a dishonest host and does not provide the accommodation she is advertising.
