Nestled at the base of Sonoma Mountain and surrounded by Oak Trees, Carriger Retreat offers it`s guests an escape from the ordinary. With a thoughtfully designed layout and the space to truly relax, this property will very quickly become a home away from home. Only a few minutes from the heart of Historic Sonoma Valley, our guests will be able to easily enjoy our wonderful wineries and restaurants without the hassle of a long drive.

Carriger Retreat

Drive up a private road at the base of Sonoma Mountain to this modern villa surrounded by oaks with views across the valley. Nestled between two farms, but only 10 minutes from Sonoma Plaza, this 3-year old estate offers the perfect balance between seclusion and access.

Carriger Retreat is a 4br/5ba villa that sets a new standard for modern luxury in wine country. This home is clean and modern yet warm and comfortable. The decor is a mix of RH Modern, Asian antiques, and vintage mid-century modern.

The great room (24’ x 36’) features two walls of glass, with 13’-6” ceilings. At one end is the gas fireplace with 75” TV above. At the other end, the 11’ dining table easily seats 12. Double sliding doors open from both sides of the room to the pool deck for the ultimate in indoor/outdoor living. A Sonos sound system provides the soundtrack for your stay.

All four bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. The main house has two mirror-image, upstairs/downstairs Primary Suites. Each has an extremely comfortable King bed and an enormous ensuite bathroom. The Upstairs Primary Suite Bathroom features a freestanding soaking tub, steam shower, heated floors, and Peloton/gym room. The Upstairs Primary Suite also has a 55” TV.

The Downstairs Primary Suite has a King bed and opens out onto the 1,500SF deck. Its bathroom has a freestanding soaking tub, shower, and huge walk-in closet.

The gourmet kitchen is a chef’s dream. It features Miele ovens, warming drawer, and refrigerator/freezer; two sinks and two Miele dishwashers; a six-burner Wolf range with double ovens. The seating along the island provides the perfect gathering spot for large groups or intimate dining. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the small and large kitchen appliances you (or your private chef) would ever need to prepare a luscious Wine Country dinner.

There is a coffee station that includes a professional quality, manual espresso machine and grinder, as well as a Nespresso machine and drip coffee maker for those wanting a quick, easy option.

The stunning Bar features an ice machine, 50-bottle wine cooler, beverage refrigerator, and its own sink. Guests at the bar won’t crowd the cooks in the kitchen!

The Breakfast Room has a 55” TV, the perfect place to start your morning over coffee.

Across the deck from the kitchen and next to the pool stands the two-suite Guest wing. On the lower level, the Downstairs Guest Suite is the epitome of resort living: a private suite with King bed that overlooks the pool. It features a steam shower in the ensuite bathroom. This suite has a 55” TV and a vintage mid-century couch that makes into a full twin-size bed.

The Upstairs Guest Suite has the best views of any room. It features a King bed and a full, ensuite bathroom. This large room has an office area at one end featuring a desk and wireless printer

The pool is 40’ long and 4’-6” deep and features a large spa. There is also a Baja Beach shelf with water feature. The pool deck and covered outdoor living area off the kitchen offer three seating areas. The covered area features a fireplace, overhead heaters, and a gas barbecue.

This home has an EV charger with Tesla adapter.

Given the nature of power outages in California, Carriger Retreat has a whole house generator that provides automatic, uninterrupted full power during electrical outages.
Our amenity and cleaning fee includes preparation of the property prior to arrival and thorough cleaning upon departure, pressed bed linens, Napa Valley Soap Company shower and bath amenities in all bathrooms, thick Restoration Hardware bath towels, Peloton bike, yoga equipment, free weights, and electricity and propane.

2025 Rental Rates - in some cases we have reduced the pricing on the nightly rates for groups of 6 or fewer (without access to the loft). If the group is 7 or 8, there will be a small pricing increase to have access to the loft.

*Sonoma County Quiet hours 9pm-9am (which is strictly enforced)
*No music allowed outdoors- this is a Sonoma County Rules for all vacation rentals
*4 Additional Guests allowed to visit between the hours of 9am and 9pm (these times defined by the County of Sonoma)
*8 Guests MAX allowed after 9pm.
*3 Cars MAX allowed at ALL times
*Sorry no pets allowed.
*The Property has outdoor cameras that monitor the entrance and the parking area.

SPECIAL: All adult guests at our vacation rentals receive a complimentary Sonoma Valley Wineries Passports providing access to discounted tastings at 30 Sonoma Valley Wineries (some exclusions apply). Many wineries charge $25-45 per person for wine tasting, so the savings add up quickly.
Arrival & Departure Times
You may arrive starting at 4:00pm on the arrival date and you must depart by 10:00am on the departure date. Early arrival and late departure times are possible by prior arrangement, but can only be confirmed several days before the arrival date, since they are dependent on the schedules of other guests. Late departure without prior approval will trigger a fee of $150/hour of over-time stay.

Allowed Uses
Use of the premises is limited to overnight lodging and related residential activity. The following uses are explicitly prohibited without prior written consent from the owner/owners representative; commercial activities, catered meals, parties, group gatherings, and wedding related events. You agree not to use the property for any immoral, offensive or unlawful purposes, nor violate any law, ordinance, nor commit waste or nuisance on or about the property. If further clarification is needed, please do not hesitate to contact us in advance. Failure to comply with Allowed Uses will be considered a Default of your responsibilities and obligations under this agreement (see Default below).

Pool/Hot Tub/Spa
For properties with a pool, hot tub or spa all liability regarding primary renter, their dependents, daily guests and pets is assumed by primary renter. No lifeguard is on duty and all uses of the pool / hot tub / spa must be closely monitored. Heating the pool is offered as an additional service. Heating charges vary depending upon the property and time of the year. Please request heating in writing with Sonoma Valley Escapes, or purchase online when booking directly through our site. Guests can make a request that the manager of the property turn off the heater during their stay. We will turn off within 24 hours of the request, and the daily rate will cease the day it is turned off, not day end of service is requested. Once heater is turned off, it will not be turned back on during the stay.

Maximum Number of Occupants (per unit)
Overnight occupancy shall not exceed the number of people specified on your rental confirmation. Total occupancy at any time shall not exceed the number of overnight guests specified on your rental confirmation. Failure to comply with Maximum Number of Occupants will be considered a Default of your responsibilities and obligations under this agreement (see Default below).

Noise Ordinance
Use of outdoor areas is prohibited during night time hours, defined in local Noise Ordinance(s) as i) 9:00 pm and 7:00 am Sunday through Thursday and ii) 10:00 pm and 7:00 am on Friday and Saturday. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited. Failure to comply with Noise Ordinance will be considered a Default of your responsibilities and obligations under this agreement (see Default below).

Property Damage and Loss
Property damage and/or loss caused by you and/or your guests, including but not limited to extra-ordinary cleaning or damage to property, fixtures, appliances, linens or furnishings, shall be your financial responsibility in the event that your Rental Guardian damage insurance policy does not cover it. You shall be fully responsible for any damage to the premises in excess of the RentalGuardian Damage Insurance policy, plus reasonable costs of collection, including reasonable attorneys` fees, if necessary.

Pets
Guests are not allowed to bring pets onto the premises unless prior arrangement is made. All approved pets are subject to a $50/day fee and a collection of an additional $1000 Security Deposit, plus a one time additional cleaning fee of $50. This Deposit is refundable in the event that there is no damage caused by the pet. Failure to comply will result in possible early end to your stay, or a $150/day charge. Service Animals, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act, are welcome. Please let us know in advance if you plan to bring a Service Animal onto the property.

Smoking
Smoking is not allowed inside the house or near doors where smoke could enter the house. Failure to comply will result in automatic and total forfeiture of the Security Deposit.

Children
Children under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times. You acknowledge that children are the direct responsibility of you as well as their parents or caretakers. Children are NEVER TO BE LEFT UNATTENDED at the property, whether in the house or outdoors. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE ARE APPLIANCES, STAIRS, DECKS, LANDSCAPING AND OTHER AMENITIES AND OUTDOOR ELEMENTS THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS TO CHILDREN AND OTHERS. You also

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in Sonoma at the Modern Luxury Villa. Sonoma Escapes communicated every step of the way and was immediate to respond on text when we had questions. Thank you Hunt! The house is set up perfectly for four couples and provides great spaces for entertaining. We had a private chef one night and the kitchen and bar area are extremely functional with everything you would have in your home. We are morning coffee and afternoon cocktail people and this house is set up to deliver. There are multiple coffee making devices and plenty of cocktail prep tools and glasses. We rented in November and were able to pay extra to have the pool heating which was well worth it. I would recommend this home and hope to be back!

This place is amazing.It exceeded expectations. It's bigger, nicer, and more spacious than the pictures represent. Everything is really high quality. One thing to note: The "4th bedroom", is disappointing. It's an office with a pull-out couch. This room is definitely not like the others. Fortunately, we only had 3 couples...

What an amazingly beautiful home and property, straight out of Architectural Digest. Everything was impeccable. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, but still so close to Sonoma. Will definitely be back!
