House felt very welcoming. The bed was very comfortable. Double oven was fantastic for Christmas cookie baking. The Christmas tree that John set up was such a lovely site. The view of the lake was spectacular. Grand to see the swans, bald eagle and osprey. The ducks and otters were having such fun. My husband loved cooking in the kitchen. Had such a wonderful stay that we are already booked for next year.

The house is a great set up for a multi generational family vacation. John was very responsive and a great host. We particularly loved watching the sunsets over Wreck pond and playing backgammon on the front porch. The road in front of the house can be busy onn the weekends.

Lovely Family Home on Wreck Pond

You absolutely cannot beat the location of this gorgeous family home. Perfect for a family vacation. Some minor things like no TV in the main room, the lack of a backyard and the busy street it's on (Ocean Rd.) made it a slightly less than ideal for the littles, but that wouldn't prevent us from renting again. We appreciate how affordable the listing was - there is definitely room for improvement with some home updates like central air and furnishings, but honestly those kinds of things would have bumped it out of our price range. The access to the Spring Lake Pavilion was a LIFE SAVER - by far the best perk. And the outdoor shower is AMAZING. John is also such an incredible and gracious host. Always available and so kind. Really appreciated how welcoming he was. For the value, location, and ease of rental this place is an absolute 5-star property!

Winter get a way

We rented for a winner getaway, and this house was the perfect choice. It has so much charm. The house was clean and had everything you could possibly need beds were very comfortable Love the view of the lake The location is great, the beach is just two blocks away and the little town is a couple blocks away. That has a lot of great shops and restaurants. I really liked. honey berry they had a great brunch. We also went to Amelia‘s by the ocean which was so elegant food was great. Saint Catherine’s church is beautiful and the park is one of the prettiest parks ever seen. John was very nice and accommodating. my husband worked out of the house and we had the perfect getaway. The only downside was it rained a lot in March. I would definitely recommend this house it has lots of room, a very large kitchen, which I loved and dining room that overlooks the lake. Also, there is a view of the lake from other bedrooms. You can also get in the car and explore the other towns nearby and find great restaurants even off-season. Thank you John for a special stay.

Beautiful Views and Great Location

The Jersey Shore in February is different than the Jersey Shore in the summer... but just nice. My purpose for visiting was to spend time with my family and this home was perfect for that. The kitchen and dining area was big enough for me to host 13 of us for dinner and games one evening. The kitchen was stocked with everything I needed to cook. I loved the views of Wreck Pond which you could see from most rooms of the house. Sunrises and sunsets were beautiful. I enjoyed watching the swans, ducks and other bird life throughout the day. I took several short walks throughout the month to town as well as to the beach. The location is perfect! Communication with John was easy and professional and his responses to my questions or concerns was prompt. During the stay, I had one issue with a toilet lever and John had a plumber there within a couple of hours to replace it. He provided good information to all things local in Spring Lake. Check in and check out was very simple. I would highly recommend this home and John. I look forward to renting again!

Christmas in Spring Lake

My family had a wonderful time at this lovely house in Spring Lake. It has historic charm with modern conveniences. Communication with the owners was great. It's a short walk to the beach which my grandson loved. There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep and the kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, and dishes. It had everything we needed for cooking Christmas dinner.

Thanksgiving in Spring Lake, NJ

Location, location, location!!! This home is a few short blocks to the boardwalk. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets on Wreck Pond and daily walks/bike rides along the Jersey Shore. The very charming town of Spring Lake was also just a short walk away and unlike many Jersey Shore towns, quite alive during the off-season. The house itself was perfect for our needs and nostalgic in that it reminded us of the home we'd grown up in. There was plenty of room for our families and the beds were quite comfortable. We appreciated the large kitchen which allowed us to host some nearby relatives for Thanksgiving dinner. Basically the house had everything we might need. Hopefully someday we can experience summer here.

Perfect Location

This is a large property, perfectly located on a reasonably quiet road, across from a charming pond, and very close to the beach. For large families or groups, there are ample bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate. During the season, the host provides for beach access and storage and bicycles for easy around town riding. On this trip--offseason, it was only my wife and I. We did not avail ourselves to all the property has to offer. I was reared in a similar community slightly south of Spring Lake. For me, this was a visit to my roots. Importantly, I was familiar with characteristics of a beach home--when closed for any period, they can be a bit musty until you can air them out. I state this to be sure the readers understand this going in. My wife was not prepared, and this took her aback. As the home aired out, the mustiness lessened, and she got over it. My communication with the host was top notch. He was immediately available and responsive before and during our stay. This clearly helps in so many ways/ The only are I did not provide 5 stars was cleanliness. Two things were at play here. First, the week proceeding ours, this area in NJ was pounded with rain. The impact was to accerbate the mustiness of the home and to give it a less than sparkling appearance. Second to this, the normal cleaning crew did not attend to the pre-check in clean. The second team did not perform as well. I'm sure the host will attend to this issue, given his attentiveness and responsiveness.

Fabulous multigenerational vacation

A wonderful location for a family vacation. Plenty of room for game nights yet also spots to find alone time. The teens, tweens, baby, dog, parents and grandparents plus a few others had a memorable vacation. The house was extremely well stocked. Lovely views from the porch and two balconies. Irish Spirit on Wreck Pond in Spring Lake!

This property is absolutely perfect for our family. The world already knows that Spring Lake is first class . . . but you have to stay here to understand how there isn't a better location in town. You are one block from outdoor mass and occasional concert at St Catherine's. It is a quick enjoyable walk to the quaint downtown area. This home is right on Wreck Pond which makes sitting on any of the three porches priceless. It is just over two blocks to the beach where there are clean restrooms, and lots of picnic tables in the shade. You get a bunch of passes that give you access to a "resident only" area that has a large storage area with beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards in stock and plenty of room for your own sand toys, additional chairs, etc. so you don't have to lunk them back and forth. This area has three pools for those of us who feel sticky sitting in sand all day haha). We stayed here a month last year but it was only available for three weeks this year. The house itself is clean, the three showers are hot with great pressure, the kitchen is fully functional. The dishwasher, dryer, washing machine are all new, or like new. They have a brand new WEBER grill that we used almost daily in the back yard. Not one complaint from this renter. Nothing but high praise and hopes that we will be able to get this property again in the future.

Wonderful vacation site

This is a lovely home: old, with just the right updates to keep it both homey and modernized. Everything is as described. We spent a lot of time on the porch, enjoying the unobstructed view of the pond and swans across the road. 3 blocks to the beach. Owner was super responsive to the few questions/issues we had. Very short drive to Point Pleasant and Asbury Park for those looking for a different vibe for the day. All linens are provided which is a big plus, and the home is well stocked with kitchen and bathroom supplies. You will also love the outdoor shower, which was used more than the indoor ones. Don't expect a big backyard however. We loved it enough to re-book for next summer.

Lovely home

Hidden Gem in Spring Lake NJ!

This home was perfect for our family - we rented it for the entire month of July. Beautiful view of Wreck Pond right across the street which had far more bicycles, walkers and strollers than cars. Three porches gave us great outdoors opportunities to chat and enjoy the breeze. The house came with eight beach passes which gave us access to not only to the beach, but also the "resident only" pools right on the boardwalk. Don't underestimate the convenience of the locker in the pool area that stored eight chairs, three umbrellas, three boogie boards with a ton of additional room we didn't need! The house had what we called "Irish Charm" throughout ... family pictures, subtle Irish signs, deep green carpets, and crosses in every room. We are looking forward to staying here again next summer!!

Great location, plenty of room

We stayed here for three weeks to visit family who live locally. We couldn’t have been more happy with our stay at the house. The best thing was waking up and watching ducks and geese on Wreck Pond every morning. John, Mary Ann, and Patti were all really helpful and extremely responsive. The house is a family house, and we loved how well stocked the house was with everything we could want. We cooked meals in most nights and I felt just like I was home. The 5 bedrooms gave us plenty of room. The house is a few quick walks to Spring Lake beach. Even in chilly April we took our 4-year-old grandson to build in the sand with the shovels and pails provided in the garage. Thanks, John and family!

Lovely getaway in peaceful area near the beach and great view of the lake from the house and porch

Big house with plenty of space for a winter/ stay. Owners were available and easy to reach if any questions.
