Life’s a beach! Catch your Wave at The Spindrift Sea Turtle!

Welcome to the Spindrift Sea Turtle (previously The Salty Sea Turtle), a family and pet friendly beachside townhome located in the community of 300 Ocean Mile! Enjoy access to a private beach on St. George Island and take in the beautiful crystal-clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico! Dip your toes in the sand and relax. If you need a break from the sand, take your pick and jump into 1 of 2 large pools located just mere steps from the back porch. Other island activities include onshore and offshore fishing, boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, biking, bird watching, and exploring the St George Island State Park. If you get a chance to stay here in the summer, be sure to explore the beach at dawn to get a glimpse of the nesting sea turtles.

Fun Fact! According to Dr. Beach, St George Island was named the nation’s best beach for 2023. He ranks the nation’s top 10 public beaches every year out of 650 public beaches. He describes St. George Island as an “idyllic place” because of its natural beauty, lack of development (no high rises), abundant outdoor activities, and an “unparalleled view” of the night sky.

Hungry for a bite to eat? There are a variety of restaurants to indulge in from beachfront dining featuring freshly caught local seafood and live music to café style eateries for pubs or pizza at the island pizzeria. Prefer to cook at home? There are two grocery markets on the island with a great selection of meats and other items. Also, at only a stone’s throw away, take a quick hop and a skip to Apalachicola. Apalachicola is known for their dining, shopping, and festivals. In addition, it is home to the famous Oyster City Brewery. End your day by relaxing on one of 3 private balconies taking in the sunset or grilling dinner after a long fun filled day on the beach.

*Staying at the Spindrift Sea Turtle*

The Spindrift Sea Turtle features a split-level floor plan with two bedrooms, a bunkroom, and two and a half bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped and updated with new kitchen cabinets, stainless steel appliances and luxury quartz countertops with plenty of seating at the peninsula and in the dining room. The living room boasts comfortable seating for family and friends while watching HD cable or streaming Netflix. There is a sleeper sofa in the living room that pulls out into a queen size bed if you fall asleep during a Hallmark movie or want to have a slumber party with the kids. Feel free to walk out onto the attached private patio and stargaze if the night is clear or decompress by listening to the rhythmic sounds of the ocean waves (both are a must at the Spindrift Sea Turtle!). The second level houses a spacious guest bedroom and main bathroom. This room features a queen size bed, entertainment system and private balcony with ocean views of the Gulf of Mexico. Heading up to the third level, there is a cozy hideaway bunk room with two twin bunkbeds and a washer and dryer down the hall. Get a great night’s rest in the well-appointed master suite which features a comfortable king size bed and private master bathroom. Enjoy ocean views of the Gulf of Mexico from your private balcony.

Also, please take note that the Spindrift Sea Turtle is a 4-level split townhome (including the ground floor entry) with three small staircases (7 stairs) connecting each level (not wheelchair accessible).

Guests have access to all of the Spindrift Sea Turtle, plus all common areas of the community including two pools, BBQ area, boardwalks and beach. The carport fits two cars and extra parking is allowed along the road.

The beach is pet friendly so be sure to bring your fur friends. One pet is allowed under 50 pounds with a $100 pet fee. Please inquire if you have additional pets.

For added peace of mind, we suggest purchasing travel insurance with trip interruption coverage.

We do offer a few types of discounts. They include: a repeat renter and military discount, discounts for stays longer than two weeks, and monthly discounts for December, January, and February.
