Wenn Sie den puderweißen Sand und das ruhige türkisfarbene Wasser der Maho Bay verlassen, fahren Sie auf einer Nationalpark-Bergstraße, die von hohen Palmen und anderer üppiger Vegetation gesäumt ist. Bei 1000 Fuß steigen Sie eine steile Privatstraße hinauf und sehen eine wunderschöne karibische Villa, die sich zu spektakulären Ausblicken öffnet. Sie sind in Ixora angekommen.
Ixora ist die ehemalige Heimat des verstorbenen Stephen Ambrose-Bestsellers und Historikers. Die HBO-Serie Band of Brothers basierte auf seinem Buch.
Ihr Gefühl der Ehrfurcht wird weiter verstärkt, wenn Sie in Ixora eintreten und dieses sehr schöne und private Luxushaus mit 5 Schlafzimmern und 4 Bädern überblicken. Das Ixora besteht aus 3 Gebäuden im traditionellen Stil, die durch Decks, geflieste Gehwege und eine Gartenterrasse miteinander verbunden sind.
Ein 60-Fuß-Pool, umgeben von einem 75-Fuß-Deck, einem Ess-Pavillon, reichlich vorhandenen Liegemöbeln und einer atemberaubenden Aussicht, bietet tagsüber einen herrlichen Spielplatz. The property manager met us in town and drove ahead to the house, a welcome introduction to St. John's roads. The house is comfortable and well situated for all the activities on Coral Bay side of the island as well as Maho Beach. The pool was perfect for doing laps on rainy days.

We greatly enjoyed our stay. We loved the layout of the three buildings to allow for space and privacy for our large family. We were traveling with 5 young children and felt safe with great visibility of the pool. The views were better than the lookout points we visited. Rent a vehicle that can handle the steep driveway. Staying so close to our favorite beaches made for guaranteed parking and easier mornings.

We loved every part of our stay here. The sleeping areas being separate from the kitchen/living room was perfect for our group to be able to retire to quite while other people enjoyed the pool at night. There was ample room for our group of six but plenty of space for more. Everything was clean and updated. Our host was attentive and helpful and we had everything we needed. The washing machine and 2 dryers made it easier to pack for the trip as we could wash clothes on the go. The views were beautiful and the view from the top of the hill kept things reasonable cool at night. We loved every second of this house and would stay again on our next island visit. The driveway is a bit steep so make sure you have a good jeep.

Majestic and Serene Setting

This house exceeded all expectations from the views, the pool, hottub and the beach chairs and convenience of location mid island with a very short trip to the beaches. We loved every minute of our very comfortable stay. Also, the beds were so comfortable and private- away from the main house made our sleep so refreshing. Stunning Views! Island Oasis!

This property is gorgeous! The 3 separate buildings add to the island feel. The main building opens on all sides to enjoy the breezes. The location is great for beaches, Cruz Bay and Coral Bay. Although there is no air conditioning, the breezes and fans lend to a good nights sleep. Waking up to the sunrise over the ocean was delightful! The only issue we had was with the mosquitos - with no AC, the main building was open and it got a bit buggy. The bedrooms have screens, so no issue there. Bring lots of bug spray and enjoy!

Family Vacation

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Ixora. The home was well situated for exploring the entire island and felt private despite it's location near a main road. It was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. There were plenty of bath and beach towels as well as coolers and beach chairs. Our only complaint is that water leaked in around the windows/through the walls in one of the bedrooms every time it rained (which it did for a little bit on several days of our vacation). One night of particularly heavy rain led to water leaking from the ceiling in two different areas (onto our bed and next to our bed onto the floor). From the looks of the ceiling this was not the first time this had occurred. We were told rain might come in from the windows and we should close them if it rained, but this water came in even with the windows closed.

Girls trip

Beautiful villa, perfect for four ladies ready to get away from the snow. Everything you need for a great stay, comfortable and safe. We brought in groceries for breakfast and cocktails, ate a lete lunch to avoid driving the winding roads in the dark. Be prepared to rent a jeep to get around, and drive on the left side.

Near Perfect

This house was everything we needed for a comfortable 2 family vacation. The villa design allowed for privacy and space to spread out. Our kids loved the pool and the adults loved the views which were truly stunning. The kitchen was fully stocked with any accessory we could need and the house was also stocked with plenty of beach and bath towels. You don’t need to bring extra. The only negative was we did have one day of rain and the master bedroom window seal was compromised so there was a bit of water that puddled on the floor but it was easy enough to sop up with some towels and move on with life. Definitely saw our fair share of jungle critters but if that’s not your thing, don’t come to the Caribbean. In an open air villa, you need to expect some sharing of the environments :) We would not hesitate to rent again.

Wonderful Summer Stay

Property is beautiful and as described. Everything was there that we needed for cooking and trips to the beach. We kept the windows open for a constant cool breeze during warm evenings. As good as it looks

We went to St. John as a group of two families and had a great one week stay at Ixora. What you see in the pictures is what you get, the property is fantastic and the views are incredible. The managing company does a really good job, are responsive, and are there for the guest if any need arises. Overall, a great vacation for us.

Excellent layout and a accommodations for 10.

Perfect layout for 6 adults and 4 children under the age of 5. Exquisite views of the ocean. close proximity to the main beaches. Lovely family experience. Three issues to think about: accessibility to good food is a problem, bugs and no A/C. Not so much an issue with the property but with the island of St John itself. There is a continual breeze and we are not an A/C family so we were all comfortable. Also, the property was clean and orderly however behind and under beds (where bugs hide) it could use a thorough cleaning. My family made many wonderful memories here. It was perfect for gathering, relaxing and playing together.
