Nur 3,8 km von Swanage mit seinem schönen Sandstrand entfernt, ist dieses charmante Ferienhaus ein idealer Ort für ein Paar.


Eingebettet in den ruhigen Weiler Acton, nur eine Meile vom Meer und den Klippen des reizend benannten Dancing Ledge entfernt, genießen diese beiden charmanten, denkmalgeschützten, ehemaligen Bauernhäuser der Steinbrecher ihre eigenen, möblierten Gärten. Sie bieten gemütliche Unterkünfte für Paare mit viel rustikalem Charme (mit niedrigen Balken und Steinfeuerumgebungen). Sie befinden sich an einem Ende einer dreierreihe in einem Naturschutzgebiet und bieten eine herrliche Aussicht auf die Swanage Bay und viele ausgezeichnete Spaziergänge entlang der Küstenpfade oder durch charmante Dörfer, drei Gasthöfe liegen innerhalb von 1,5 km. Swanage, 2,5 km, bietet einen schönen Sandstrand und viele andere Attraktionen, darunter Geschäfte, Restaurants und Gasthöfe, ein Theater und ein umfangreiches Sportangebot. Bournemouth 25 Meilen. Von London aus nehmen Sie die M3, M27 und A31 in Richtung Westen. Fahren Sie weiter bis zum Kreisverkehr mit der A350 nach Poole, der links ausgeschildert ist. Folgen Sie dieser Straße, bis Sie zu einem großen Kreisverkehr kommen - links Poole, rechts Dorchester. Nehmen Sie die Schnellstraße nach Dorchester. Nach kurzer Zeit kommen Sie zu einem Kreisverkehr, an dem Sie links auf die A351 nach Wareham abbiegen. In Wareham folgen Sie der Beschilderung nach Corfe Castle. Kurz nachdem Sie Corfe Castle verlassen haben, biegen Sie rechts ab in Richtung Langton Matravers. Fahren Sie den Hügel hinauf und durch das Dorf Kingston, immer noch auf derselben Straße. Fahren Sie an der ersten und zweiten Rechtskurve mit der Aufschrift Worth Matravers vorbei und biegen Sie dann gegenüber der mit Acton gekennzeichneten Telefonzelle rechts ab. Had a lovely 4 day break.

Had a lovely 4 day break. The cottage itself is really lovely and cosy but with no central heating it was very cold. There is little electric heaters in every room but the electric which you pay for at the end of the stay is very expensive. There is also a woodburner which heats the room beautifully the only downside is there are no instructions and if you have never come across a woodburner before is difficult to use. Also no wood is left to start the fire when you first arrive. No welcome pack at all not even a couple of teabags.But it is still a lovely cottage and we loved our stay and will go back.

The cottage is cute and in a lovely rural location; an easy distance from Swanage with its bars and restaurant. The cottage itself was basic and was an okay base but with a few tweaks, could be so much better. To begin with, I didn’t receive any access instructions and spend a few stressful hours at the start of my stay trying to contact the host; I was in a telephone loop! On finally getting in, there was no instructions left by the host apart from an A4 sheet which asked that the property be left in a clean and tidy manner and to ask for more cleaning products if needed! The sofa was uncomfortable as was the bed. The kettle needed descaling, and the shower attachment let out either very hot or very cold water! The wood burner (for which fuel was not provided), burned up the wood but provided little heat. The heating, for which you pay as an extra, did little to actually heat the cottage. So whilst the place looked nice, it wasn’t the most comfortable of stays. However, if you don’t intend to spend much time there, it’s a good location to explore the local sights, which were awesome.

Log fire difficult as nowhere 'local'really had logs and lack of local knowledge made finding these awkward without using holiday time. We used electric heating which was expensive. Lovely little cottage. Unbelievably uncomfortable sofa but gorgeous bed so this is a perfect cottage if you're going to be out and about most of the day /evening (great pubs nearby) Felt a bit strange having to pay for the electricity on top of the normal rent but it didn't amount to much (£1.27) - an even more compelling reason for the owner not to bother as the goodwill lost for the sake of such a sum seemed rather ill judged. We did take a crate of logs for the log burner which worked well so didn't need the extra, optional electric radiators, depsite it being the coldest, wettest weekend of the year so far (thanks Storm Alex!! and thank heavens for an effective washer/dryer) Excellent location though to get out and explore the Ridge. Just a very short drive to Swanage where there are plenty of shops and pubs. The cottage is very cold in the evenings, but there are heaters. Bring your dog's bed and a pair of slippers as the tiled floors are also very cold

The cottage was good and the location is fab.

The cottage was good and the location is fab. It was chilly though so do be prepared to use the log burner. It would have been really helpful to have a folder in the cottage with info about how to use the heating, bin collection days plus local amenities. WiFi wasn’t great, which was ok for us but could have been tricky if you needed to work. Parking was to be in the yard next door but there was a large party staying with many cars so there wasn’t space for us. This might not be typical though. we had a problem with the hot water and this was sorted on the same day, which was much appreciated. Very comfy bed and great location for walking. There’s also a bus stop at the end of the road.

Nice cottage, good location for exploring coastline etc. Our dog enjoyed all the walks accessible from the door as did we. Need to be careful with low beams and would highly recommend the owner invest in a new shower as the one in the bath is extremely poor.
