Das Haus ist sehr zu empfehlen. Haus und GrundstĂŒck sind in einem liebevoll gepflegten Zustand. Hier merkt man, dass die EigentĂŒmer das Haus auch selbst nutzen. Der Empfang erfolgte durch einen Mitarbeiter der Agentur, welcher uns ausfĂŒhrlich zum Haus einwies und die SchlĂŒssel ĂŒbergab. Die Kinder genossen viel Zeit im tollen Pool (Wasserspielzeug war ausreichend vorhanden). Auf der ĂŒberdachten Terrasse mit bequemen Holzmöbeln, OutdoorkĂŒche mit Gasgrill, Beleuchtung und Ventilatoren haben wir viele Stunden verbracht. Von hier aus konnten viele Tiere beobachtet werden (Bunthörnchen, Leguan, grĂŒne Eidechsen, WaschbĂ€r, Stinktier, Kolibri, Adler,..., selbst eine Krabbe lief ĂŒber die Terrasse). Die KĂŒche verfĂŒgt ĂŒber eine sehr gute Ausstattung, so dass wir nichts vermissten. Bei unserem Eintreffen war ein Obstkorb mit leckeren regionalen FrĂŒchten vorhanden. Wichtige und nĂŒtzliche Informationen wurden durch die Vermieter in Form von QR-Codes zur VerfĂŒgung gestellt. Gut zu wissen: alle Fenster und TerrassentĂŒren verfĂŒgen ĂŒber Fliegengitter. Das Haus selbst befindet sich in einer ruhigen gepflegten Wohngegend. Zum Strand sind es ca. 3min zu Fuß (StrandstĂŒhle sind im Haus vorhanden). Die SonnenuntergĂ€nge sind spektakulĂ€r. Wir wĂŒrden das Haus jederzeit wieder mieten und können es nur empfehlen.

Our stay at Casa Columbine was excellent, with both the host and the property management firm being very responsive and helpful. Communication was consistently positive throughout our trip. Before our arrival, the host provided a detailed and useful list of recommended activities, dining options, and places to visit.The property itself is well-maintained and tastefully furnished, featuring a fantastic kitchen, an outdoor grill, and a private pool area. For getting around locally, a car is not necessary unless you plan to travel into the interior of Costa Rica. Shops and restaurants are easily accessible with a pleasant walk along the beach, but be sure to consult the tide guide before heading out. We found the Uber service to be reliable and very good.We highly recommend checking out Playa Conchal and Playa Flamingo, which cost about USD8.00-10.00 for a one way Uber trip to these beaches. A notable casual dining spot was Potrero Brewing, where we enjoyed excellent birria tacos and excellent cold, locally brewed beers.In conclusion, we will definitely stay at Casa Columbine again on a future trip to the area.

Casa Columbine was fantastic! The inside and outside spaces were updated, comfortable, clean, and cared for well. The backyard was an oasis with the pool and manicured gardens. We even saw monkeys, iguanas, and unique birds from the back patio. The owners stocked everything to cook excellent meals (cookware, spices, etc.), spend hours at the beach (chairs, coolers, towels, and toys), or simply relax in their expansive home. Having a full size washer and dryer allowed us to pack light for the trip. Check in and out were seamless with clear directions from the property managers and the owner. The house is close to the beach, restaurants, and many outdoor adventures, but some days we couldn’t tear ourselves away from the refreshing pool and garden. We would rate Mike’s wonderful property more than five stars if we could, and are already planning a return trip for next year. If you are looking for a clean, safe, well-appointed, beautiful home with a private pool near to everything in Playa Potrero, book Casa Columbine now.

We love it here!

This was our fourth stay at Casa Columbine. We feel very comfortable here and have everything we need. The new couch is great! We love the private yard and pool and used it every day. We were a bit surprised to find that the vacant lot on one side that had tree removal happening last year was now a road going past the house. There's a bit more traffic and noise due to that, although the yard is fenced and has many bushes and foliage so it's screened pretty well. Once again, Tropical Homes, the management company, was very responsive with helping with arrangements and a few minor issues that came up. Hope to be back yet again!

Great location and very well equipped and comfortable home. Wish we were staying longer. Our only negative was that we assumed that when the listing said “oceanfront” that it was right on the ocean. Only one block from the ocean but with the buildings in front of the house you couldn’t even see the water.

Family of 6 - New Year's 10 day stay

Overall, the stay was really amazing. We stayed January 2-10. The beach was so close, which made an easy walk for our family of 6 - we traveled with our 8, 6 and 4 year olds, and a 4 month old baby. The beach was quiet when we were there, on a long stretch there were never more than 5 or 6 groups of people. It was perfect for us. Being in the bay, the water was great and my kids could safely play in the water and waves. There were coolers to keep our drinks cold and beach chairs to bring. The outside shower made it easy rinse off when we returned. The pool was awesome and beach towels were provided. They had a pack and play for the baby to sleep in and it was in excellent condition. My only issue was the dishwasher not working, so with our big family I was doing a lot of dishes that I wasn't expecting to do, so for me it took a little bit away. I understand equipment fails sometimes and that it was unlucky timing for us. But the good news is they were actively in the process to repair it, so I'm sure it will be back in order soon, if not already. The living room had a printed booklet of different waterfalls to see, some of which had the owner's personal thoughts. It was great to read from a visitors perspective and I appreciated the extra comments. We also went on the mangroves estuary tour which was only a half hour away and it worked great for our kids and was easy to to bring the baby along. I also found the property management and owner easy to communicate with.

Holiday Beach Stay

Great house in a convenient area. Stayed here 6 nights between Christmas and New Years. The local manager, Tropical Homes, made everything so easy to check in, including meeting us at the house upon arrival. They were also super responsive with a few questions during our stay. The house itself is updated and easy to operate. There are vacant lots on each side so no neighbor noise. We felt very safe in this neighborhood and walked the couple blocks to dinner each night. A little car dodging on a road with no shoulder but doable. The sailing center was closed for an extended period during our stay, so if this is a factor, perhaps confirm it’s open. The beach down the block is nice and not crowded. No shade. The sand is a little dark and grainy so people go to others with softer sand. If you try other beaches, go early and probably not on a weekend. There is very little parking and the traffic in and out can be chaotic even if you get a parking place. We got in a huge jam at Flamingo beach. Owner Mike was very helpful and responsive to my questions. He provides a nice info sheet and list of recommendations in the area. We ate 3 times at the brewery restaurants. We waited 2 hours for food at Perla’s one night, so can’t recommend that. We loved having the kitchen to make breakfast and lunches as dining out is pretty expensive In this area and can take a long time. The house is very well stocked with supplies and eqpt. Great stay!

Great house.

House was very nice and clean. Home was comfortable with ac and ceiling fans even on the outside patio. Pool was wonderful. Used that on a daily basis. No issues with anything with the home. Beach at the home is a very short walk. We did go to flamingo beach which is a short drive. You do need a car and a 4 wheel drive is best to get to the other local beaches. Some beach roads are not passable without a 4 wheel drive car.

Casa columbine family trip

We stayed here for 10 days with 3 children. It was awesome. Great location, easy check in, very responsive owner when we had questions. There is so much to do here and the locals are really friendly and appreciative of the visitors from other countries. Would definitely visit this area again. Tropical homes concierge was awesome to work with as well!

Great stay, great location.

Overall a great stay and great house. A perfect location, a short walk to a beautiful beach. We hit some heavy traffic on the way in and had to pay a $20 late check-in fee. We arrived around 7pm. Check-in included someone meeting you at the house and walking you through the property. After a long day of traveling we were ready to settle in immediately. We would have preferred a lockbox to check-in or another method. We did not feel like we needed a tour of the house and the $20 fee was annoying but other than that a really great place where we had an absolute blast.

Perfect Getaway Home for our Family Vacation

We all loved staying at Casa Columbine. Everything was perfect! Great communication throughout. The house had everything we needed and was not only conveniently located but also tucked away in a quiet location near the beach. We could not have asked for more yet, as a pleasant surprise, concierge services were available to help arrange all of our activities and excursions, as well as chef-cooked meals at the home and a golf cart for our local travel needs. Tere, our concierge, was amazing! We would not hesitate to return and would highly recommend Casa Columbine for your next stay in Costa Rica!

Property is nice but BEWARE of the concierge service!!!

Pros- the property itself is nice and that’s about it Cons- the concierge service that this property offers is a disgrace: we requested a couples massage and a chef for our 2nd day in country. Everything was fine until the concierge actually had to do more than “communicate” with us about our services. 1.our two massage therapists didn’t informed us they would be late , we reached out and the concierge then informed us they’d be late due to a flat tire and we obliged (the concierge knew we had a chef scheduled immediately AFTER bc THEY booked it (couple massage @4 and Chef @6 that way there would be ample time to do one w/o interfering with the other). 2. Well, the chef decides to show up early NO WARNING and one of the ladies massaging my girlfriend let the guy/chef in WHILE WE WERE HALF NAKED ON THE TABLE and NOBODY took accountability or offered a refund/do over or anything. Lady kept on working on my girlfriend as if a man/stranger wasn’t in the kitchen literally WATCHING us get massages. I hopped off my table and aired them out. I had to repeatedly tell the chef to get out & wait. Once the therapists left, out of shock we contacted the concierge to let them know what happened, they responded that it was our fault, have a nice flight. We vacay internationally often and NEVER had to leave a vacay a day early. NEVER AGAIN. ***We told trconcierge and the owner what happened but it’s a TOURIST TRAP so they’re not really concerned about your stay, as they are your money.
