The Space:

From every room in the house, the blue sparkle of the pool and surrounding green of lush palms, flowering plants, and distant mountains call your attention and enhance your living experience.



The house has a unifying, U-shape floor plan designed by a French architect in collaboration with the owners to provide a flowing coalescence of all rooms. The living room, kitchen, master bedroom and master bath all have floor-to-ceiling glass and sliding glass doors, maintaining a permanent connection to the outdoors. Guest bedroom and bathroom also feature wall length sliding glass doors to the front garden. Anywhere in the house, you are always aware that you are in the beautiful tropics of Costa Rica!



The sleek, spacious kitchen is framed by two walls of glass and is fully equipped with all the dishware, cookware, and utensils you need. Modern, stainless steel appliances facilitate all your needs. A large island hosts the electric stove, oven and sink, with a spacious counter top for prepping, cooking, and serving, while views of the plants and pool lure you outside. After the red snapper has been seasoned for the barbeque, it’ll be hard to resist taking a dip in the pool before dinner.



The dining area is outside! The dining table is nestled well within the house structure and yet flows right into the back yard and pool. Enjoy your meals feeling the breeze in protected comfort, either rain or shine, under its two ceiling fans while gazing at the pool and garden. The dining area and kitchen are connected by a glass wall and sliding door, creating a harmonious blend of indoor and outdoor dining and entertaining.



The living area is bathed in pleasant natural light through its floor to ceiling glass walls with views of the outside. A large, comfortable L shaped sofa accommodates one or several guests looking to relax or enjoy a book or movie on the smart flat screen TV with cable. The living room also has A/C and a ceiling fan. There is a half bath accessed from the living room.



The master bedroom has a king size bed, a walk in closet with plenty of shelves and drawers with more than enough space to accommodate you and your partner’s clothing (There is also a security safe for your use, bolted to a shelf in the closet). The bed faces a floor to ceiling, sliding glass door with views and access to the garden and pool. It is framed by a large, black out curtain for sleeping in. The bedroom also has a wall mounted, flat screen Smart TV, A/C, and ceiling fan, and an ensuite bathroom with a sunken shower that also features a floor-to-ceiling glass wall with a glass door to the yard and pool. Need a travel crib? No problem! Just reach out our concierge team to arrange one. Keep in mind they are subjected to availability and have an additional charge.



The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed and wall mounted, A/C, and ceiling fan. There is a large, wall closet accessed by solid wood sliding doors. The bedroom also has on ensuite bathroom with a sunken shower with a sliding glass door to the front garden.



Other amenities include high speed internet, an indoor (American style, rare in Costa Rica) 2 car garage with electric door opener, and a roomy pantry/storage/laundry room. Since all appliances are electric, no monoxide detectors are installed. As a guest of this property, you are also provided with complimentary necessities such as salt, pepper, cooking oil, dish soap (and whatever useful goody a previous guest left behind for use) for the kitchen; shampoo and body wash for the bathrooms; and a beach chair, beach towels, and cooler for the beach!

ABOUT THE AREA

Potrero Beach/Surfside is a charming, small beach town with a friendly mix of local “Ticos” and ex-pats from Europe, Canada, and the US. The town offers a good variety of restaurants and bars with frequent live music. It has two mid-sized food markets that also sell beer, wine, and liquor. The house is a half mile walk/bike/drive to town and Potrero beach. Dozens of other beautiful, local beaches are a short drive away.
