Winter paradise

We returned for our second season at the villa. That alone tells you how we feel about the property and its owners. I provided a long review last year and have little to add. For details on the property see my 2023 review. It remains beautiful, quiet and private. This year we had the added treat of dolphin encounters on kayak trips into the bay.

Birthday Weekend Getaway

Such a comfortable and beautiful airy home with scenic treetop views from the huge windows and screened in porches with built in fans
 it was a peaceful retreat for our family, private without feeling too isolated. We enjoyed exploring on foot (cute wildlife), trying to fish from the dock, and touring the island by bike (while insect spray is a must when outdoors as is typical anywhere in Florida, the screens on both porches did their job well so I enjoyed my coffee in the mornings gazing at the view bug-free, listening to the wind chimes and the birds.) So many species of birds! The cafe string lights are a nice touch. Easy and quick communication with the host, well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds, home is nicely furnished inside and out, good water pressure in the shower. Had a great time— if we had more time, might have braved the kayaking as the garage was well equipped with kayaking equipment to explore the mangroves. Would love to stay here again when we have more time.

A five star rental

5* Sea Island Villa is sensational. It is the rare VRBO that lives up to the photos. It is private and surrounded by natural beauty yet close to stores, restaurants and much more. House: Like many Florida homes near the water the house begins on the second floor. Ground level is a large garage that holds the recreational equipment. The living and dining rooms overlook the mangroves that separate the house form the bay. The view is beautiful. Sunsets are lovely. There is a large fully screened porch with a fan that puts you outside without the insects. The kitchen is fully equipped, with high quality pans and utensils. A gas grill sits on the deck. There is also a third room on the first level with a desk and a murphy bed. Upstairs are two bedrooms and two baths. Each bed/bath is private. The primary bedroom is large and faces the mangroves, which are even more stunning from this height. Off the primary bedroom is another large fully screened porch. The primary bath has a jetted tub and large shower. The beds are all comfortable. Everything works as it should--TV's, wifi, etc. The place is first rate; a home people would live in. Outside: Sea Island Villa is in a great location. The house is extremely private. It is a little way off the street and surrounded by trees and mangroves. You can take a mini-hike down a dirt road that runs past the house. Yet the house is close to everything you need. St. Pete's is just over the Skybridge. Bradenton is a few miles south. Shopping and restaurants are a short drive away. The house has five kayaks, and the journey is special. Just outside the house is a lay in that takes you through the mangroves for about ten minutes, before you are deposited into the large bay. The mangrove section is amazing. It can be a little hard to navigate your first few trips. (I am not by any means an experienced kayaker.) But it is well worth the effort, with the mangrove trees forming a canopy where heron fly a few feet off the water. We are not fishers but there is equipment for that as well. There are also three bikes. (We stayed for a while so brought our own, but the bikes here are quality.) Biking in the island is safe and the views are great. Hosts: The Bunns were always responsive. When we first arrived the power company was struggling to keep the lights on. The Bunns, along with others on the tight-knit island, complained loudly and the problem was rectified.. Our best rental ever. We will return.

I don’t have enough words to describe this property. It is truly amazing! The pictures are 100% accurate. Cindy, the manager/owner is super helpful and friendly, she answers quickly and takes care of everything. Our experience at Terra Ceia was exceptional since our arrival. The house was in neat condition and extremely clean, you will get the WOW factor when you walk in. The decoration is beautiful, it’s like a dream home. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need, all it’s missing is the food. The beds are so comfortable (the best beds we’ve got on a VRBO property) we use VRBO quite often, since we’re a party of 5 and we like to travel. This is by far one of the bests properties we’ve stayed. I completely recommend it, not only because of all the reasons mentioned above, but also because of its location. Even though it seams as if you’re in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nature and quiet; the property is about 20-30 minutes drive to the beach, nice restaurants, Sarasota, Bradenton, and St. Armands Circle. We stayed with family visiting from out of the country and had a great time, lost of things to do, at the house and close by. We played a few good ping pong matches and did some shopping and went to good restaurants to eat (Cindy provided us a very good list of places to eat) we were not able to use the kayaks because the weather was cold during our stay. Exceeded our expectations - even more beautiful than the photos!

We recently stayed at this property and loved absolutely everything about this house and area. Beautifully decorated, a functional kitchen to cook in, a bright open floorplan with views of the trees all around, and incredible views of the sunset from the living/dining areas and master bedroom. It was such a peaceful experience and our only complaint is that we didn't book our stay for longer! We loved how quiet it was while also being close to major roads if needed. The ample outdoor activities were the cherry on top - we were provided bikes and kayaks (with direct access to a kayak launch) and got to enjoy the beautiful outdoor lighting and aesthetic. We were so happy with the experience, warm welcome, thorough support, and communication - Cindy is such a great host! We'd definitely stay again!

Private Paradise

We were looking for a private/secluded area to celebrate a birthday and this location did not disappoint. The weather was perfect and the views are spectacular. Some of us went kayaking, others took a bike ride. We did not get to see any otters, but a family of racoons stopped by to check us out. Cindy was very responsive, accommodating and was an excellent host. We would definitely recommend this property!

We’re the Millers

We are a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys. We take a family vacation every year, and have traveled near and far. I cannot say enough great things about this home and the owners. Everything about our experience was 5 star. The location, the safety, the communication, the beauty and comfort, the views and the thought and pride put into this home can be felt immediately. Tremendously Pleasant Getaway!

We had an absolutely amazing time in this home. Let me just tell you. We have stayed in countless vacation rentals and this one is hands down my personal favorite. Beautiful accommodations - the beds were very comfortable, the supplies were plentiful, and the hosts were super nice people who were wonderfully accommodating. The area was peaceful, serene, and quiet. I look forward to returning to this one!

Beautiful Villa Immersed in Nature

Sea Island Villa is an enchanting spot that perfectly showcases Terra Ceia’s lush beauty. If you want to relax and reconnect with nature it is the perfect spot. The Villa is lovely and well appointed. All the furnishings are beautiful and the beds are very comfortable. Sunset is a particularly magical time with stunning colors sweeping across the sky as you gaze above the treetops. The hosts are wonderful and respond immediately if there are any questions or concerns. If you want to rejuvenate your body, mind and soul Sea Island Villa is ideal.
