This is a Beautifully Renovated 3-bedroom, 3-story, Pet Friendly House with a backyard near the Hip Commercial Drive (named by Time Magazine as the Top 5 Coolest Streets in the World) and Cedar Cottage/Trout Lake neighbourhood of East Vancouver. Close walk to funky cafes, shops, and exotic ethnic restaurants. Gourmet Kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite countertop, microwave, dishwasher, etc. Super High-Speed 1 GB/Sec Fiber-Optic Super High-Speed Wifi Internet. Separate private, optional-shared, ground-level studio. Perfect for Film and TV professionals, actors, directors, producers, and production teams!

The space is a gorgeous home, over 2500 square feet with hardwood floors in the living areas, and plush carpets in the bedrooms, with plenty of sun filled windows! High Tech heating & AC system w/ fan. Soaker bathtub. Natural tones on the walls. Tastefully decorated with an artistic modern touch. On a very quiet tree-lined street near 2 lovely parks. And the famous Trout Lake with Tennis Courts, Kids Playground, ducks and geese in the pond just a few blocks walk away!

Guest access:

Private guest access, through the very secure Keypad front door with an adjacent separate locked ground-floor studio office suite. As well as 2nd private entrance/exit towards the backyard side door accessed from the 2nd-floor stairs. The entire house if Private to the guests! However the private locked ground floor may very rarely if at all, sometimes be needed to be momentarily accessed for occasional maintenance and service, through the bottom front entrance.

Other things to note:
Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 11am!
Fully stocked kitchen and fridge with food ad with All-Cad Stainless Steel pots and pans. Artistic pottery tableware. Cups and glasses. Microwave. Dishwasher.

Please note that we do not allow smoking in the house. And you must clean up after yourself and your pets please! A cleaning fee will be charged as well as a pet fee, and extra guest fee if you would like more guests to stay above the number allowed. Thanks!

Place was very dirty so we cleaned when we arrived the bathroom and doors and railings and counters Prescription Medications found in fridge and cupboards Full !!Closets cupboards full of persons items No where to put our things or our food Pics sent to vrbo Decided to read further into reviews and host seemed to attack the guests when they complained so we chose directly to vrbo and only asked host if they lived there And he replied yes we do but it's yours while u are hereIt was dirty and messyMy nephew could not stay with us as beds were kids beds and he could not fitWe left the next morning to a hotel Pictures did not show we found when we arrived at locationYard was disgusting and pictures showed a bbq and outdoor furniture Which was there but dirty and bbq rusty and unusable Could hear cough in basement and noises as my dogs barked Mouse traps and devices all over house so assumption they are an issue Toaster and appliances dirty Counters covered in their personal items and we could not have space to cook or put our itemsFridge door broken and again all their food in fridge so no room to put our food Pictures all sent to vrbo and host refused us any refund However vrbo saw the pictures and they personally refunded us one night Days inn was awesome and gracious and clean and beautiful I think this host needs to be checked out and suspended He is scamming people and I can't believe it's being allowed by vrbo to b honestWorst ever !!!!!!!!

Couldn't stay here, not as advertised

We left within half an hour of arriving. Several aspects were misrepresented in the description and during my communication with the owner. I specifically asked about if there was another suite and he said yes, but that it was only used as an office occasionally so we would have the place to ourselves. Two days prior to check in I was advised that there would be someone in the suite (and clarified that this meant overnight, not just as an office) for a few nights. it became clear by the time we arrived that the suite was actually lived in by him and his family, and their personal belongings were filling most of the space in the closets and dressers, including what appeared to be dirty laundry. The beds were made, but not very neatly which made us question whether the sheets were clean given the state of the space and all the personal belongings. When I questioned more about his confusing entrance instructions, I thought that we had our own entrance. However, upon arrival, it became clear that whoever accesses the basement suite (which he revealed to be him and his family the day before check-in) they had to go through our entrance and the into their own private entrance, which we did NOT have. Also a shared bathroom!? at the entrance. Not a secure or comfortable place for our family. Not cleaned very well. The owner refused to given us any refund so we are pursuing this with VRBO. I expected to rent a space owned by someone else, but not lived in by someone else.

Honest review.

Kevin is friendly and accommodating. He allowed earlier check-in, was good about being in contact. There are nice parks in the area, but the description is a bit misleading. It is not “on the drive” it is a 20-30 minute walk. House is not “newly renovated” parts of the house were renovated, but it seems like that was a few years ago. The yard was used for storing tires, had an old Xmas tree still in the stand and cabinets that partially block the front gate. Kevin did come and set up the garden furniture, but still not as pictured. The yard has a gate with the neighbours behind who go through to take out recycling/ garbage. Not a big deal, but I specifically asked if it was private. He should have mentioned the adjoining gate, again not a big deal, but did surprised me and the dog twice when someone came through. The house is very much lived in when not listed on vrbo. This is an adjustment if you are used to vacation rentals that are specifically set up for rentals. Limited space in bathroom/ bedrooms and kitchen to store things. Not a big deal for short stays, but we were there for over two weeks. He did come over later and pick up a bunch of items from fridge/freezer & there was a dresser in main bedroom that was cleared out, some storage in 2nd bedroom. No storage in 3 rd bedroom or bathrooms, only one shelf in kitchen. The house is not sparking clean, more a “lived in clean”. Better cleaners and more transparency in the listing would benefit all!

Worst stay with a VRBO unit

We were booked in for 7 days and checked out the day we arrived. We moved to a hotel for a few nights then found an alternative vrbo to rent. We put in a complaint with vrbo and they have tried to get in touch with the host. The host hasn't responded to them, and hasn't wanted to discuss the option of a partial refund. Reasons for the 1 out of 5 rating: The kitchen with filthy. Food smears on counter. Dish clothes were stained & musty smelling. All three wooden cutting boards had black mould spores on them. Cupboard door pulls, fridge and stove knobs were all covered in dried food. Fridge wasn't clean inside. All of the kitchen glasses were stained and had food stuck to them. Upstairs bathroom garbage can full with used feminine hygiene products in the can. Towels were old and musty smelling. Long hairs all over the toilet and sink. Dining room had ketchup stains on the table and after we moved the placemats, there were layers of bread crumbs underneath. The place was cluttered with personal belongings and photos and unkept. I knew there was a basement suite attached to our unit, but the host had to enter through our unit to get to his. We felt very uncomfortable about this arrangement. This was NOT a private, secured entrance as per vrbo's policy. We addressed these concerns immediately with the host. He said we were too picky and that we would never hear him enter and leave through our unit. He offered to bring in a cleaning lady - after we had checked out.

Property description misleading

Although the home was in a great location and the owner was accommodating, the home did not meet the standards that one expects from a VRBO property. Rather than being a "gorgeous brand new home", it was cluttered with the owner's possessions and in need of a deep cleaning.The carpet was extremely dirty and not "plush". The kitchen can not be described as gourmet. Dishes were chipped, the garbage can dented, pots and pans thrown into a lazy susan. Closets and cabinets were filled with the owner's possessions and sheets and towels were questionably clean. The home was dusty and musty. Sadly we can not recommend this property

Not the stay we were hoping for

This property is owner occupied when not listed. There were tons of personal articles, cultural elements and smells in the unit. While the owner was very nice, it was very difficult to unpack ourselves and relax in the space.

We really enjoyed our stay. Fantastic location, beautiful streets, close to coffee places, grocery stores, restaurants, parks and skytrain station. The place had all the room we needed, the beds were comfy. Kevin was a great host, very responsive!
