Walk to the beach, relax, grab food & drinks, walk/bike the trail at the Cerro Gordo National Park, and relax while hanging out in the amazing outdoor patio space!
Come stay at the Hidden Gem! We are centrally located on the north coast in Vega Alta. Escape and enjoy this comfortable property located in a great, friendly, localâs beach community. Only 45 min from the SJU airport and Old San Juan (can be as short a drive as 35 min but time depends on traffic in SJ). Take day trips to Old San Juan to the east, Manati to the west, or the center of the island.
It is calm and peaceful during the week and has a great, fun atmosphere on the weekends and holidays. This area and beach are truly a hidden gem outside, but next-door to, the hustle and bustle of Dorado and Vega Baja. The property is located on a relaxed cul-de-sac. Great for a chill beach vacation! This area started as a fisherman and farmers' town and is an authentic Puerto Rico small town with wonderful people. Walk about 150 yards to the beach. Make sure to look for our sea turtles at Cerro Gordo beach and walk the National Park trail for amazing views!
Plan day trips to Viejo San Juan (Old San Juan) to the East, Mar Chiquita or Cueva del Indio to the West. Stay in the middle of the north coast and adventure all over the island! You need a rental car or transportation for your adventure. Puerto Rico is a large island so get out and explore the many exciting, amazing experiences.

Your large group can be together and still have some separate space! No one sleeps in bunk beds or pull out couches! All four condos include WiFi, a television with Netflix, games, and a small kitchen perfect for vacation. Beds have 2-inch memory foam toppers for your comfort. A desk is available in each of the first three condos (#1,2,3) as a workspace and/or vanity. Each condo has full-length mirrors, hooks for towels, closets, luggage racks, and more. A/C split inverters are in each bedroom!
The outdoor covered patio has dining tables, lounge chairs, griddle, string lights, bar, TV, and more. Kick back, enjoy, hang out, play games, and have an amazing vacation.
BEACH: Some beach chairs, beach towels, beach bags, coolers, and more are included! Just bring your personal items and enjoy a relaxing beach vacation!
SUGGESTION: Use âBalneario Cerro Gordoâ as your location in G maps to determine distance to the places you want to visit. A rental car is a must so you can get around and adventure!
NOISE: Enjoy the neighborhood wildlife including coqui frogs (small tree frogs), iguanas, chickens, horses, toads, dogs, and parrots on occasion! Puerto Rico is a lively island so expect to hear music from nearby restaurants/bars/cars, fireworks (depending on the time of year), beach celebrations, ice cream vans, announcements from a pastry car, and more.
The beach, a couple bar/restaurants, and slot machines are all walkable (or a very short drive) from the Hidden Gem. The area is very relaxed and people enjoy hanging out and having a drink with friends. At night, the street lights along the beach are red to protect sea turtle nesting areas. Bright white lights confuse recently hatched baby sea turtles!
It is a short drive (10-15 min) into Dorado for lots of additional restaurant options. There is a convenience store and several grocery stores within a 10-15 min drive so you can take advantage of the large griddle!
IMPORTANT NOTE: There are security cameras on the premises. All cameras are outside (property entrance, stairs/balcony, covered patio, and outdoor areas). There are no cameras inside the condos.
POWER & WATER: The property has a generator and water cistern as backups .
PARKING: Free designated parking is available in front of the building. Three parking spaces are available for your use. If you have a really large vehicle (like a 15 passenger van) you may park across several parking spaces as needed for your purposes. Do not block the vehicle driveway/gate.
STAIRS: The building is on stilts so all guests will need to walk up stairs. The covered patio is on the ground floor. Two condos are on the first floor and the third and fourth condos are on the second floor. **There is not an elevator**
CONSUMABLES: We provide many consumables to help get your vacation off to a great start. These include some shampoo and conditioner, garbage bags, paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and more. We do not provide unlimited amounts of consumables. It is your responsibility to review what is at the property upon arrival and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay.
RENTAL CAR/TAXI/UBER: Highly recommend getting a rental car! You can taxi or Uber to this location from the airport, but once you are here you will want/need a car. There is a taxi service out of Dorado that can use to get around.
Uber announced an expansion including our area but there aren't many drivers in the area yet. It depends on the day/time whether you will be able to Uber.
There are rental car locations in Dorado if you have any trouble getting one at the airport (often cheaper rates).
We love this area and live about a half mile away. You might see us next-door hanging out with the neighbors, etc. We will respect your privacy! We do reserve the ability to park at the property if needed (this will not impact your three parking spaces and is a just in case).
