Charming, Rural Villa with Private Pool

Set in a peaceful location, nestling among orange and lemon groves, yet just 5 minutes drive from the typically Spanish town of Vera, and 10 minutes from a 25 kilometre stretch of beautiful beaches.

This south west facing property boasts 3 light and airy bedrooms with air-conditioning in each room and ceiling fans and 2 bathrooms, a living room with large screen smart TV, a couple of sofas and kitchen area. This area also has air-. conditioning. Adjacent is a very large “chill-out” room with comfortable sofas, an 8 seater dining table. and a pool table. There is a large flat screen TV with an extensive DVD library and a selection of board games and books for both adults and children. Beautiful antique doors lead straight out onto the terraces which over look the pool and garden with tropical plants, a Balinese style sun bathing platform and a couple of hammocks, as well as traditional sun beds and parasols. There is also a second covered terrace with a table and chairs ideal to enjoy that first cup of coffee in the mornings.
The outdoor kitchen area is covered from the elements and comprises of an oven, a microwave and a 3 ring gas hob. There are gas and charcoal BBQs, as well as a gas Paella tripod and a fridge and marble work surface.
We have transformed one of the old stables to create a recreation area featuring a childrenÂŽs play area, a table tennis table, a beach tennis/volley ball court, a touch tennis court and plenty of room to enjoy a game of Petanque (Boules) which sits next to the full-size beach tennis or volley ball court and the table tennis room.
Wherever you sit in the garden you will appreciate the beautiful views of orange trees and rolling hills. Take a walk out of the main gate and enjoy the miles of quiet country lanes or simply sit back and relax on one of the delightful terraces and admire the stunning panoramic views of the perched town of Mojacar and the Sierra Cabrera mountains. With its south west facing terraces you can enjoy the late afternoon sun and watch the sun set over the hills of Bedar.
Ideal for families and groups we are also pleased to advise that this property has been adapted to facilitate wheelchair users. Access from the car parking area to the garden and villa is along a flat paved walkway and access to the chill-out room is via a 1:12 ratio ramp. One of the shower rooms has an extra wide sliding door, wheel in shower and the ground floor bedroom also has extra wide sliding doors. Access around the villa and to the pool is along a paved path. Please note that adapted transport can be organized and we can arrange to hire a pool hoist and specialist beds (please speak to the property manager to get quotes).
This sizeable and charming property which has been restored to a high standard forms the southwestern facing rear of a large historic country mansion. The villa has its own driveway and private pool within a pretty, fenced and gated garden. The owners are around to provide any help if necessary but also appreciate you having your own privacy, they reside in the front of the estate, with their own driveway and entrances. This is a totally unique historic property originally inhabited in the 1850,s. Features include a large outdoor wheat threshing area known as an Era and a Dovecote.
The property is just a 5 minute drive from the Valle del Este Golf Course and Spa and 5 minutes from 3 equestrian centres.

Location and Surrounding Area
Located in eastern Andalucia, in Southern Spain, Almeria boasts around 320 days of sunshine per year and has one of the warmest climates in Europe.
With its long, sandy beaches, pretty marinas, fishing ports, coastal resorts, mountains, AndalucĂ­an towns and villages as well as championship quality golfing venues, the area has much to offer the holidaymaker. Despite this, much of the region lies unspoilt by mass tourism, protected from over -development thus retaining its natural beauty.
One of the main reasons people visit the area around Vera is to discover the very many beaches which, for most of the year can be virtually deserted and even in the height of the summer never reach the over-crowding seen in some of the other Spanish resorts. Beachside parking is abundant and mostly free. There are beaches to suit everyone from gently sloping sandy beaches to hidden away rugged rocky coves. A lot, but not all, have small bars and toilets. Vera is pleased to offer many beaches with access and assistance for the disabled. Some of the more popular beaches also offer free childrens play care facilities.
Within a short drive of the villa, you will come across winding, narrow streets and whitewashed houses typical of Andalucía. On the sea front of the fishing port of Garrucha you’ll find a busy marina and a selection of the finest fish restaurants in the province.
A little further along the coast is the Cabo de Gata National Park,  declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO, featuring abundant flora and fauna. This is a dramatic landscape with remote areas, desert terrain and a simple way of life. The secluded coves and clear, sparkling sea make this a beautiful setting to enjoy kayaking, sailing and diving.

The nearest town Vera
Just a couple of kilometres from the villa, Vera is a small, walled, renaissance town located in the Levante of Almeria in AndalucĂ­an and just minutes from the coast .
Vera has retained the character and traditions of a typical spanish town, a great place to relax and enjoy the more leisurely pace of life
There are several buildings of architectural interest, the main Plaza Mayor (square) houses the 15th century Church de la EncarnaciĂłn, The Ayuntamiento de Vera (Vera town hall) was built in the 16th century, here you will find the Ethnographic and Archaeological Museum which tells the history and folklore of Vera and its surrounding areas
Vera has a mix of shops, cafés and restaurants to suit all tastes Saturday is market day where you can buy anything from a frying pan to beautiful rugs, handbags, shoes and much more.

Great location, Great Hosts

The property and location was excellent, we were made to feel very welcome. Nothing was to much trouble for the owners, we actually enjoyed a game of beach tennis with our hosts, mountain bikes were made available for further exploration then a nice cool off in the pool. All the family enjoyed the stay there was something for everyone, Swimming pool, pool table even a TV.

Lo primero q quiero reseñar es la simpatía con que Sara y Dominique nos recibieron.El trato fue super amable y nos dieron todas las facilidades del mundo para cualquier cosa q pudimos necesitar,desde el primer momento que entramos bastante antes de la hora prefijada, lo que nos permitió disfrutar de una tarde q de otra manera habríamos perdido en compras y preparativos. La villa esta a 3 min. del pueblo y a 10-15 min. de las playas de Vera.La paz en la villa es absoluta de día como de noche.La piscina es grande y poco profunda (ideal para niños pequeños), rodeada de tumbonas y un espacio "chill out" maravilloso.Tiene una increíble sala de juegos (50mtrs2), con muchos sofås, nevera, mesa grande y una mesa de billar americano.La casa tiene 3 habitaciones amplias (la de la planta de arriba es mås pequeña pero tiene unas vistas preciosas al limonar con las montañas de fondo.La cocina y la sala de estar son una sola, aunque la cocina tiene la parte de cocinar fuera de la casa, al aire libre, protegida por uno de los dos amplios porches de la finca (es Almería, se puede cocinar fuera todo el año pråcticamente..) Tiene mucho menaje de cocina, con dos pequeñas neveras y fuera hay 2 BBQ, una de gas y otra de leña.La zona tiene mucho q ver y sin duda alguna volveremos, por el trato y por la maravillosa finca.Han sido 8 días maravillosos y como no tengo espacio para escribir mås solo agradecer a Sarah y Dominique su extraordinario trato.Esperamos veros pronto.Gracias por todo. Fabulous

If you are looking to stay in one of the loveliest homes in a beautiful setting, this is for you. We were treated so well by Sara and Dom. they could not have done enough for us, certainly over and above anything we have experienced before when renting a villa. The historical property is surrounded by Orange and Lemon groves in a peaceful and tranquil setting. We had various grandchildren and family staying a different times and there was something for all ages, ours are between 3 and 23 years. There is table tennis, beach tennis, games room with so much to entertain including a pool table! It was difficult to get the tennagers to go out as they were just happy lounging around the lovely pool and playing the various sports there! As mentioned before our hosts were so kind and helpful, even to the point where Sara booked and took us and three of the youngest children pony trekking herself!! When we arrived, not only did Dom meet us nearby to help guide us to the the house but various and very welcome supplies were in place, which was lovely. I cannot say how much we enjoyed our stay (a whole month) at this lovely villa. A tranquil home to say in with everything you could want. Plus, the town of Vera is 5 mins away! Perfect. Thanks Sara and Dom. We will certainly be returning.

A great time

A real gem and as we were the very first guests in this newly renovated property we were treated to a lovely welcome basket. The villa is tastefully decorated, we spent hours in the chill-out room. The property is in the heart of the countryside but only about a 5 minute drive from town, golf and horse riding. Really enjoyed the beach tennis court and local walks from just outside the property's gate. It was 24 degrees, when back in the UK it wasn't above 10. We'll be back.
