## Space

This newly refurbished charming and rustic 1 bedroom house is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature. With its peaceful, secluded location in a traditional Portuguese village this accommodation is sure to provide you with an unforgettable holiday.

With a spacious fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with walk in shower, a small living room with dining table and a separate bedroom with a king sized bed, this house has everything you need for your stay. The house is built around a small courtyard, offering you a private outdoor space that includes an outdoor shower where you can rinse yourself and your beach items (and surf gear!) from sand.

The kitchen sits separately from the house along the courtyard and is spacious, having recently undergone a tasteful update on the original space, bringing modern and functional utility without disturbing the original ceramic tiles. Entering the house you are greeted to the charming and compact lounge with original roof and beams, ceramics and period furniture, and at the right angle, you can even spot Praia do Zavial at the end of the valley.

The master bedroom adjoins the lounge, and also has matching high ceilings, although these are plastered instead of the traditional wood. White washed and cool, there is a king sized bed and window onto the courtyard. After a day in the water, on the beach or hiking the coast path, this is the place to wind down in peace. Shutters down, the world wakes up when you do!

An important note about Casa Ana Mar is that is a home and not a guest house, situated amongst locals who make the village the characterful beauty that it is and for whom we have great respect. We ask the same from our guests.

The house is situated on a dead end lane and should never be accessed by car. Please do not drive up to the house to park or unload as the lane is reserved for our neighbours and the emergency access at all time. You can easily park in the communal areas in the 'center' of the town (more or less until the church) and walk the two minutes to the house though!

Situated amongst rolling hills the village sits upon its own small hill, accessible by road, bike or on foot. There are however few amenities. Nearby town Raposeira offers a small supermarket 5 minutes away by car, 10 minutes by bike. Favo is a modern bar/restaurant situated at the edge of the village, 3 min walking from the house, and is a lively and colourful place to end the day. The restaurant at Praia do Zavial also offers amazing food and views! Opening times might differ per season.

There is no TV at the house, so you can truly unplug and enjoy the tranquility of the area. But we do offer WiFi internet.

## Neighborhood

You are spoilt for choice when it comes to the 16 beaches, all within a 5-15 minute drive away. There are also several supermarkets to get fresh supplies from within this distance. With a plethora of restaurants in close by Raposeira and Vila do Bispo to chose from, your taste buds will embrace the authentic Portugese food & Algarve specialities.

Raposeira town, with some lovely local shops and restaurants is close by and some of the most beautiful beaches of the Algarve are only a short drive away. By car you will reach the nearest big supermarket within 5 minutes. The surf town of Sagres is only 10 minutes away and the historic town of Lagos and another selection of amazing beaches can be reached in 15-25 minutes.

This area is the perfect getaway for a couple who are looking for tranquility but don't want to go too far off the beaten track. It is also ideal for hikers, surfers and other (water)sport lovers.

## Transit

From Faro Airport Casa Ana Mar can be reached in 75 minutes by car and around 4-5 hours by public transport.

The best way to travel the Algarvarian coast is by car. If you really want to explore the area, a (rental) car will make your life a whole lot easier as public transport is limited but it can get you around. There are buses going from Lagos and Sagres but they are not very regular.
