Family holiday

This property was exactly what was described, and what we were hoping for. It felt like a family home which was perfect. We felt comfortable there and wished we had stayed longer. We love the area and Santo Antonio complex. The host was attentive and helped with lots of information for our stay.

We had an amazing week staying at this villa – perfect for two families! There was plenty of space both indoors and outdoors, so everyone could relax together or enjoy some quiet time alone. The outdoor area was a highlight, with a great pool, a relaxing hot tub, and lots of space for both kids and adults to unwind.The hammock was a favorite spot for afternoon reading and naps, and we loved cooking in the well-appointed kitchen and grilling meals on the outdoor BBQ. Each bedroom had air conditioning, which was a real plus, especially during the warmer nights.Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up – we couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our vacation. Highly recommended!

A wonderful family holiday

The villa was superb, spacious and very comfortable. The temperature of the pool was just perfect. The addition of an electric pool cover was very welcome, and the roof top terrace was a perfect venue for yoga during sunset! There were numerous areas for outside dining, and you could seek shade or enjoy the sun whatever was your preference. We would love to return in the near future. Thank you.

Amazing little gem

We were a family of 7 including 3 children (9-12) and 2 grandparents. The property was very spacious split across 2 floors, downstairs had its own small kitchenette which was handy for the gp's. Master bedroom was devine, loved the bed! Aircon in the bedrooms was a godsend as it was very hot when we were there. Main kitchen was amply stocked with every utensil you could need for a large family. The outside of the property and pool area was stunning. Pool itself was lovely and jacuzzi a nice touch. Only small downside was there were no bars restaurants in walking distance so a car is def needed, but we knew that when we booked. Overall cant recommend highly enough. Team were attentive and speedy in their responses too! Thanks guys!

A peaceful and relaxing family holiday

The villa was easy to find as part of Santo Antonio. The size was perfect for our family to stay for one week. The garden and pool area was beautiful and everything we needed was in the villa. The range of books is great and we played board games in the evening. Spikes Bar on site is good for a bar snack, Vincentinos good for eating in or a takeaway. D’adlieia (pizzas) very good and a close drive. Our favourite restaurants were Agua na boca and Spice Cottage - both in Salema, approx 10 min drive. Dolphin watching with Salema Tours was great, and a visit to the spa on site for a massage! Driving in The Algarve is very easy and the local supermarket is 5 mins drive from the villa. We loved the villa - peaceful and relaxing allowing us all to rest and enjoy family time. We had everything we needed and Margot was on hand via messaging throughout the booking process. The pool lights were not working on arrival and we contacted the property management company. It was not an issue at all and the repair was carried out during the week. Thank you to all involved for a great stay - we hope to come back and we recommend this villa and area!

Spacious and comfortable villa, well equipped and in beautiful surroundings. Lovely garden.

We stayed for a week at the end of Feb 2019- aiming to get away for a bit of warmth and to escape the winter in Cornwall. The villa couldn't have been better- masses of space for our family of 5. The area was obviously out of season but supermarkets/ main restaurants open as normal and everyone was very helpful. Being out of season has it's advantages as the whole week was peaceful and relaxing which is what were hoping for. The weather was kind and not dissimilar to an English Summer- but in February! The area is lovely with stunning coastline to compete with Cornwall but with quiet roads and easy driving. The whole holiday was straightforward, easy flights, simple drive to the villa, warm welcome from Maria the manager, and we couldn't really fault anything. The pool was surprisingly warm and we spent a lot of time just chilling out at the villa and following the sun around the lovely terraces and often ended up having a drink on the rooftop terrace with it's panoramic views. A perfect, relaxing week- many thanks, we would love to return.

Amazing Villa in a beautiful surrounding in fantastic Western Algarve Region

We absolutely enjoyed our family vacation week (6 Adults) at Casa Palmeira. The Villa perfectly sleeps up to 8 people wit it‘s 4 Bedrooms + 3 Bathrooms ( 2 of them en suite). The views from the main level as well as the small rooftop terrace over the golf course with the hills and the Atlantic Ocean in the background are breathtaking. The Villa was perfectly clean when we arrived and we appreciated the very flexible check-in / check-out procedures. This is definitely a place where we would love to come back in the future.

A experiência foi bastante agradável e tudo correu bem, em geral. O check-in não correu bem, o staff não atendia o telefone. A televisão da casa não tem canais portugueses e durante toda a estadia (1 semana) não houve limpeza à casa nem troca de roupas (de cama e banho).

Tout était parfait !

Un Check in rapide et complet : merci maria ! La maison est très bien organisée, très silencieuse, la cuisine très bien équipée et l’arrière cuisine très pratique avec lave linge et SÈCHE linge. La situation est idéale : en fin d’impasse et entouree de verdure ; le jardin est juste magnifique, arboré , très fleuri et sans aucun vis à vis Les literies confortables, 3 salles de bain , et de nombreuses terrasses. Le jacuzzi était le bienvenu et la piscine chauffée très agréable pour rester des heures dans l’eau . Margo a été particulièrement attentionnée, réactive à nos questions avant et pendant le séjour ! Nous recommandons vivement cette villa de rêve

We had a most enjoyable family holiday and the house was really well equipped for all of us. My 2 grandchildren, 8 & 3 , loved the heated pool and we all had BBQs and enjoyed the hot tub. We would recommend this villa for all looking for a relaxing family holiday.

Comfortable villa in beautiful location

The villa proved to just like the description on Home away. It was really well equipped for 8 people and the facilities provided made it feel like a home from home. We particularly enjoyed the large heated pool and the surrounding garden. With regard to location, the coast, Lagos, and a range of supermarkets were all within easy reach with a car. The only thing that could have been better was the outside garden furniture, which is showing signs of its age, but this is only a minor detail and didn't spoil the experience in any way. We all enjoyed our stay and would certainly consider returning.

Great villa with beautiful gardens situated in a calm and peaceful position overlooking the golf course.Easy and stress free directions to property. Villa's furniture, crockery and cutlery all of good quality. Plenty of tips in Villa suggesting restaurants within easy reach and if leaving the car at villa a number for an excellent cab service. Golf course was fun to play and the Spike bar is highly recommended. When contacted the local agents were very helpful with any questions we asked. One week was not enough we would love to come back.

Lovely villa in stunning area

We spent a fantastic 10 days here, 4 adults, 4 boys (6,7,8&9) The area around is stunning and we visited Salema, Burgau, Praia de luz and Lagos. All great with some lovely eateries. The villa was fabulous, well equipped and Sam who manages it was invaluable . The books were brilliant!!! Highly recommend

Relaxing week in this lovely villa which contained everything we needed. Greeted on arrived by helpful manager. Used the heated pool and hot tub every day. Lovely beaches a short drive away, great for surfing and bodyboarding.

Lovely Villa with beautiful gardens

Straightforward directions to Villa, welcome pack made it a stress free start to holiday. Villa is as per the description on website, in a very peaceful part of Santo Antonio. Property was clean with good quality furnishings, crockery and kitchen equipment and owners local agent were helpful when contacted. Local restaurants recommended in Villa information book and golf club bar were excellent. Would definitely return.

A beautiful villa in a fantastic location!

The villa was amazing , the outdoor space around the pool and the multiple outdoor eating areas really make it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the weather. Location wise it's great, 5 min taxi to the beach and restaurants and 15/20 minutes to Lagos. Customer service was second to none and made for a very enjoyable and relaxing week. Would highly recommend!

What a fabulous Villa!

My wife and I ust returned from a fabulous week at Chris and Margo's 5-Star property in St Antonio. The villa is really well kitted out and we made full use of the hot tub and pool during our stay. Being right next to the National Park, we also went on a couple of nice long walks in the late afternoon, and if you plan it correctly and pass under the main road to the little village (can't remember the name) there is a very nice pub where you can have a refreshing beer or glass of wine. Although we didn't eat there, they have a good menu and I heard good reports from others about the quality of the food. The golf course is good and can be challenging given that it is built on the side of the hills and a lot of the holes are either down or up a valley. If you prefer carrying your clubs it is possible (as I did) although there are a couple of long uphill climbs on a couple of the holes. Lagos is not far away if you want some nightlife, a taxi is about EUR40 to get home afterwards. We will certainly be returning and would have no hesitation in recommending this to others.

Renny's Relaxing Retreat

The travel information provided prior to our holiday meant we arrived with no problems and only 1 hour 10 mins after leaving the airport we were at the villa. This villa has everything you could possibly want on a self catering holiday and more! The whole house was immaculate and the welcome pack in the kitchen ensured a snack on arrival was exactly what was required. The villa is spacious and cool despite the temperatures outside being 40 degrees whilst we were there. During our week we met the cleaning staff, the pool staff and the gardeners who were all so friendly and unobtrusive. The restaurants recommended came up trumps and we ate out most of the week in Salema as there was a variety of restaurants which were excellent. Would also recommend the Italian restaurant on the complex- fantastic value. We were all so impressed and our friends who accompanied us raved the whole week about just how relaxing our holiday was. We will definitely be back in the future. Most definitely recommend it - excellent holiday!

Another fantastic holiday!

This is about our sixth stay in this wonderful villa which says it all! It is such a welcoming place with everything you could need plus the most fabulous pool and hot tub! Easy reach of some beautiful unspoilt beaches and great restaurants it is total heaven!

Beautiful villa located in stunning golf resort

Great villa with lovely pool and gardens. Various options to eat and relax both indoors and outside the villa. The property was clean and spacious and a great choice for a family holiday. There are so many stunning beaches in this part of the Algarve. Our favourites are Salema, Zavial, Mareta and Amado (especially good for body boarding).

Excellent property, well appointed

We have been renting villas in this area for many years and would highly rate Casa Palmeira, which has character and a homely feel. The bedrooms are very well appointed, the kitchen has everything which you could need with high spec crockery and cookware. There is also a downstairs kitchen which is very well stocked for the pool area. The living space is very comfortable and the study is a bonus. The infinity pool is a good size for serious swimmers and the outside patio area and gardens were lovely. The owners were very helpful and had a lovely attitude towards renting their property. Would definitely rent this one again.

A hidden gem

Casa Palmeira was one of those places you come across that you never want to leave again! It was luxurious, spacious, well designed with great attention to detail everywhere. The comfortable living areas, beautiful bedrooms and extremely well equipped kitchen (have never found Cath Kidston mugs nor Le Creuset cookware in any previous holiday lettings before!) made it a joy to holiday in for two weeks. We were 3 families staying there across two weeks at different times and enjoyed all aspects that Casa Palmeira had to offer. The gorgeous pool and hot tub made it very special too and we have some great memories amongst us now as adults, not to mention how much fun our varying aged children (10-17 years) all had too. Spotlessly clean and well managed throughout our stay dealing with the owners and also the villa/site manager with any queries. Whilst the nearest town Salema only had a limited number of restaurants which were good, would recommend that having dinner in Lagos just a 25 minute drive away is worth considering too particularly for a little more atmosphere in the evenings. We also loved the Paraiso restaurant overlooking the beach in Praia da Luz for brunch! Amongst our party of energetic children (including 4 teenagers) all thoroughly enjoyed the watersports on offer in Luz (paddle boarding, pedalo slides, donut and inflatable sofa rides and jet skiing). They also tried surfing and bodyboarding at nearby Cordoama beach which was fabulous. Would highly recommend this villa and holiday to anyone wanting a relaxing, away from it all break with spectacular views and comfort but with the option to do plenty nearby in under 30 mins by car. A hidden gem indeed :)
