La Jolivière - Troglodyte house

We invite you to enjoy a very pleasant stay in this charming and large troglodyte enclosure typical of Tours from the 17th century. Former convent and home of great travelers.
This totally atypical place facing due south on the Loire Valley is located on the hillside (access with 45 steps), 700 meters from the shops of Vouvray and about 15 minutes by car from Tours. In summer, the natural air conditioning of this place will be very appreciated.
Not suitable for festive events.
The accommodation
COVID 19: we inform you that all health measures are taken in accordance with the measures recommended by the Centers for the Control and Prevention of Infectious Diseases (CDC).

This troglodyte house of approximately 200m² includes 5 large rooms, all with large French windows opening onto a south-facing garden, protected from the outside heat.

The whole is composed of:
- a master suite of approximately 40m2, equipped with a Queen size bed (160x200), a lounge area and an office area. A baby bed can be made available to you on request, as well as a high chair
- a shower room, in an old bread oven, in mosaic style 30s with a walk-in shower, WC. Access to this room is either from the master suite or from outside
- a bedroom with 2 single beds installed in the old office room. - a large living room equipped with a sofa, club armchairs, a library, an upright piano and a fireplace
- a fully equipped cathedral kitchen (piano, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, Nespresso Vertuo machine, ...)
- a 1930s zinc bar with various small tables, turn-of-the-century poster
- a large private, wooded and enclosed garden, facing due south.

Guest access
You can park your vehicles for free on Rue du Petit Coteau, in the marked parking spaces.
The town of Vouvray is in the heart of the Loire Valley, an ideal central point for visiting the Loire Valley castles and vineyards. The first castles are 15 minutes away.

Other remarks
Reception and key collection are by appointment, between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Departure is at 10:00 a.m. at the latest.
The price includes linen: sheets, towels, bath mats, tea towels. The beds are made upon arrival, and cleaning upon departure.
A small grocery store, hygiene and cleaning products are available to start your stay.
The house is only accessible by a staircase of 45 steps, it is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
