Enjoy the country and stay with us on our farm. We are located within easy access to Camden and Damariscotta. Birchfield Farm is a 70 acre farm, set back from the road on a long gravel driveway. Children are especially welcome. This rental has 2 bedrooms , 2 full baths, and a living room area. The entire unit is rented whether one bedroom is used or two. You will have a refrigerator, microwave, and coffeemaker. There is no kitchen with the rental rooms. The rental has a private porch facing the garden, away from the barn, and a deck. It consists of a living room with cable TV and internet. There are two bathrooms, all completely remodeled. This old house does not have an upstairs bathroom, and the previous owners put two bathrooms in the addition years ago. Double beds in each bedroom because a queen did not fit up the stairwell. The pet fee is $10 per night per dog.
We have a small dog, a Lhasa Apso, our timid farm dog. Our farm has horses, sheep, chickens and minilop rabbits and a mini jersey steer. We raise our sheep for fleece and lambs. We have two horses, and 8 Finn sheep. There are large fields and walking paths. The farm has 4 barns, and a garden. The long driveway opens up to the farm away from the traffic on the main road.

Great spot for our overnight before the ferry to Vinalhaven. Quiet farmhouse stay only 30min from Rockland. Friendly hosts and enjoyed seeing the farm animals too. Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. We will be back!

They showed us around, introduced us to all of the farm animals and even provided us with gallons of water incase we didnā€™t want to drink from their well water. It was the perfect cozy stay. I booked this stay for my daughter and her familyā€™s visit. We live in the next town but donā€™t have room for them to stay. Birchwood Farms was perfect! Denise and Bruce are wonderful, friendly hosts and not only gave a tour of their farm but my daughter and her 8 year old were delighted to have a horseback ride on Finnegan. Theyā€™d be happy to stay again on a future visit.

A Memorable Stay at Birchfield Farm Apartment

Last week, my family and I stayed at Birchfield Farm Apartment for two nights, and it surpassed all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, Denise and Bruce made us feel welcome with a warm greeting and a personal tour of their beautiful farm and charming animals. My daughter instantly bonded with their adorable puppy, which became a highlight of her trip.The apartment was cozy and thoughtfully designed with a farm-inspired theme. While it didnā€™t have a full kitchenette, it included a microwave, refrigerator, coffee machine, and a variety of coffee flavors, hot chocolate, utensils, bottled water, and welcome treats. Nestled in the heart of the farm, it had all the comforts we needed: high-speed Wi-Fi, plush beds, immaculate toiletries, and an extra foldable bed with plenty of bedding. The sunroom offered breathtaking views, especially at sunset. A special moment was when my daughter spotted an owl outside and captured a magical photo.Denise and Bruceā€™s hospitality was outstanding. They generously involved my daughter in farm activities, where she cared for the animals, took photos, and even rode a horse despite the chilly weather. We also enjoyed a day trip to Camden Snow Bowl, only 30 minutes away, for skiing. Denise gifted us fresh eggs and even offered to extend our stay due to weatherā€”a gesture that felt like family.The farm's serene countryside setting was perfect for both relaxation and exploring nearby attractions. I highly recommend Birchfield Farm

Solstice At The Farm

This is my second time staying at this idyllic farm setting to celebrate Winter Solstice by attending a fantastic concert at Cakewood Center for The Arts in nearby Waldoboro. This accommodation wraps me in warmth and allows me to ā€œtravel back in timeā€. I love the set up of the rooms with bedrooms on the second floor that look out upon the pastures , woods and farm buildings. You might even get to see the sweet animals who live here. Denise and Bruce are wonderful hosts who allow guests to feel truly welcomed.

Most enjoyable stay!

Highly recommend Farmsaty! We stayed for a short Fall weekend and had the best time! The farm is very picturesque, and the barnyard animals were so much fun to meet and interact with. Our hosts Denise and Bruce were so kind to my very eager son, who kept asking how he could help on the farm. They even let him help with feeding and taking a wheel barrel of manure/hay out to a pile, which he especially loved. The lodging was nice, clean, and comfortable ā€“ lots of pillow, which is always a nice thing. We agree that we all had a good night's sleep. The sky at night is amazing so be sure to look up! I can't remember when I'd looked up and saw so many stars. Food: If you stay here, you are not far from a Hannafordā€™s supermarket as well as other places to eat. The suite has a Keurig and the host provided creamers. It also has a mini-fridge, microwave, and toaster. My only complaint was that I wish the fridge/micro was downstairs, but we made do so real not a big deal. On the recommendation of the host, we ordered pizza from McGreevyā€™s, and it was delish! The crust tasted homemade - I could have eaten the crust by itself it was so good. For lunch, we enjoyed some great good at the Trackside Station in Rockland, which has a kidā€™s menu. Be sure to try the pretzel bites with beer cheese! Check out nearby Sandy Beach for rock skipping fun! I am looking forward to making tomorrowā€™s breakfast with my fresh Birchfield Farm eggs the host gave us.

Denise and Bruce were right there to greet us. The house was beautifully maintained and updated. Becsuse of our age, going up and down the narrow staircase to the bathroom during the night was a little challenging
