Formerly the residence of coastguards and their families, 2 Coastguard Cottages has been reimagined to provide the perfect place to connect to the coast and spend quality time with family and friends. With views of the coast and countryside, four tastefully furnished bedrooms accommodate up to 8 people. Adjoining cottages can additionally be booked to accommodate larger groups, being particularly popular with multi-generational holidays.
No.2 Coastguards is situated close to the area of the Lulworth Ranges, where military training and live firing may be heard dependent on wind direction. Coastguard Cottages offer the perfect combination of comfort, accessibility and a superb location in a particularly accessible part of the Jurassic Coast â just a pebbleâs throw away from Lulworth Cove with simply breathtaking views of Englandâs only natural World Heritage Site. The picturesque village of West Lulworth, the extraordinary features of Stair Hole, the Fossil Forest, Lulworth Crumple and the iconic rock arch of Durdle Door are all within walking distance and linked by the South West Coast Path. Thereâs history, action sports, safe beaches, glorious walks and charming places to eat and drink right on your doorstep.
Our latest edition to the Cottage Collection, No.2 Coastguard Cottages sleeps eight people across four spacious bedrooms â two with king-size beds, one with a super king and one with two single beds. One of our larger holiday cottages and with the opportunity book adjacent cottages, No.2 offers the ideal setting for spending time with family and friends.
We provide goose down and microfibre pillows, luxuriously crisp white Beaumont & Brown linen, fluffy white towels and a comfortable cotton robe for each guest.
Guests can enjoy a bright open plan sitting-dining area, designed for comfort and conversation, centred around a feature fireplace. French doors open onto the front terrace area, offering wonderful views over Lulworth Cove. To the rear, guests can enjoy a private garden, with terrace, lawn and plentiful seating to enjoy outdoor dining and relaxation. The modern kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped and includes a large oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and washer/dryer.
No.2 is one of our pet free holiday cottages.
On the ground floor youâll find a spacious bathroom featuring a bath and overhead shower. The well-appointed first floor bathroom comprises a walk-in shower. Each bathroom includes our Lulworth body wash, hand soap and shampoo.
Directly outside No.2 is allocated, off-road parking for two vehicles in a privately accessed, gated driveway. Complimentary parking across the Lulworth Estate is included in your stay upon receipt of your car registration number, allowing you unlimited access to Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Lulworth Castle Park. For day trips further afield, there is a bus stop within West Lulworth village, with links to Poole, Weymouth and Swanage.
In front of the Coastguard Cottages is a large, grassed area ideal for picnics and exercise, from which leads paths to Lulworth Cove and Stair Hole.
The pedestrianised street to the left of the parking area leads through the village and its many restaurants, cafes, gift shops, The Dollâs House Confectionary Shop and ice cream kiosks, down to Lulworth Cove itself. At certain points of the day, you may have the beach entirely to yourselves!
We have carefully curated a fantastic welcome folder full of information about the cottage, Lulworth and the local area.
