Ramla Retreat makes a luxurious base for those wishing to explore the wonderful island of Gozo. It holds a fantastic location just a short distance from the vibrant village of Xaghra and is situated above Rambla Bay, famously known for its strikingly red sand.

Blending modern comfort with home-like appeal, Ramla Retreat is perfect for families or a group of friends, accommodating up to ten guests across four spacious bedrooms and two folding single beds. Designed with high attention to detail, boasting sophisticated interiors complete with sumptuous furnishings, guests staying at Ramla Retreat can enjoy the expansive open-plan living space; complete with a well-equipped kitchen and a large dining table. Large floor-to-ceiling glass doors bring an abundance of natural light into the home. The chefs among you will enjoy cooking up a delicious feast in the cool and contemporary kitchen whilst others enjoy a cool beverage around the large marble island before eating around the large dining table. If al-fresco dining is more your style, the glass doors lead out onto the huge private terrace with ample space to dine under the sun and stars. After a barbeque, sip on a digestif and relax in the bubbling five-seater hot tub. Alternatively, sink into the plush sofas and switch on Netflix.

Four well-appointed bedrooms await you. The first bedroom has a comfortable king-sized bed and a floor-to-ceiling door that leads out onto the large terrace. You will also find a smart family bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink. The second bedroom has a king-sized bed with a window overlooking front street with a lovely shower ensuite. This bedroom has two folding single beds which would suit two children and a cot is also available. The third bedroom has a kingsize bed with a shower ensuite and a door to an internal courtyard. The final bedroom has a kingsize bed with TV for Netflix use, a shower ensuite and a floor-to-ceiling door that opens onto the private terrace.

Make the most of the mornings on the terrace with an espresso in hand. This private terrace sits exactly at the same level as the mini gym and vast communal deck area with numerous sun loungers and a well-sized shared pool. Perfect for watching the kids splash around in the pool!

Location:

Ramla Retreat is situated on the small island of Gozo, set in the heart of the Maltese Mediterranean Sea. There is no international airport on Gozo – something which makes this island feel all the more remote and tranquil. Guests are advised to fly to Malta, and then hop on the short and frequent ferry to reach Gozo.

Ramla Retreat can be located on the outskirts of the quaint village, Xaghra and 3.6 km east of Gozo’s capital, Victoria. Siting above the beautiful Ramla Bay and just a stones throw away from the UNESCO and World Heritage Site, Ggantija – this apartment is in the perfect location. Not to mention all the main amenities are within walking distance.

Whist the island of Gozo is only seven kilometres long, and just over thirteen kilometres wide, there will be something for everyone. Whether its historical sites, fortifications, ruins, and castles, religious churches, chapels, convents, and monasteries, nature’s trails and treks amongst the natural flora and fauna, city sightseeing and shopping, sampling the best of the local homegrown cuisine, or simply sunbathing on of its many golden sandy beaches, you’ll always be spoilt for choice in Gozo. To explore the treasures found on this island, a car is perhaps your best bet.

Enjoy the slower pace of life and soak up the Gozitan sun. Crystal clear waters can be found at each beach and cove, enticing you into the serene waters. Spend the days swimming, snorkelling or even diving. In fact, Gozo is known as a popular diving spot, great for first timers and experienced divers too. Swim with schools of colourful fish through the networks of undersea caves and sunken WWII bombers! Families with young children will enjoy the nearby infamous Rambla Bay, featuring long stretches of striking red sands, set against craggy cliffs with lifeguards for safety. Options for water sports are never ending… paddleboarding, kayaking, tubing, wakeboarding or water-skiing!

There are some great hikes on Gozo that let you see the peaceful countryside, peppered with remarkable geological features begging to be explored. Enjoy the hike from Xaghra to Rambla Bay or challenge yourselves and hike up to the Sanap Cliffs. Each hike is bound to reward you with captivating views. Afterwards, find a spot to eat some delicious, fresh Gozitan food. The locals are well known for their incredible hospitality, encouraging visitors to come back time and time again.
