Lots of upgrades but didn't feel welcome
I've stayed at this place many times prior to the new owners remodeling, so I was anticipating a nice stay given the many upgrades under new management. No concierge was on duty, so check in happens via text which would've been okay if we'd brought bug spray. The mosquitoes are terrible, and we were eaten alive as we waited to receive the text info to get into our room. Later that evening, my husband and I were laying in bed dosing off watching tv, when a text came in "reminding" us that quiet hours are strictly enforced and if there are "any more issues" we will be asked to leave. This was at 11:30pm. Neither of us had been talking or making any other noise. I thought surely they must have sent that message to us by mistake? Then, shortly before 7am the next morning, we woke to the fire alarms going off on the porch hall outside of our room. It was my one day to sleep in... but now, we're up. We went to shower and discovered that water was luke warm. With the previous owner, they always served a wonderful breakfast but there was no mention of any breakfast on the booking page or on the check in texts we received, and since there was no concierge, we assumed there wouldn't be kitchen staff to serve breakfast. We only noticed the sign out front about breakfast after it was over as we were checking out. I replied back to the text accusing us of making noise, and was told that they sent that out to all guests. Which seemed rather harsh to sent out as a blanket message.
